Matthew 6:10 KJV Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Thy will be done…..What is God’s will? Let’s seek His word together.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Giving thanks in ALL things. We can clearly see this is a part of His will.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 NIV It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality

Be sanctified (set apart, declare holy). We are to avoid sexual immorality.  Even in our thought life. We must take captive our thoughts. Remember Jesus said,  “But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Matthew 5:28). We are called to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16)

1 Peter 2:15 NASB For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men.

Notice here it says by doing good we shall silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. We don’t have to try to justify ourselves. We can relax in His love and protection. The battle is not ours it is the Lord’s.

Ephesians 5:15-20 NIV Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.  Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,  speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God’s word is active and alive.

Hebrews 4 :12 NIV For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

He has provided a roadmap full of instruction and wisdom for our lives. It is time to digest the whole of His word and not just take the parts which make you happy or feel good. This is serious business. Jesus is coming back for His bride. Will she be spotless and ready? Is she even trying? Have we allowed the world to harden our hearts?  Have we believed the lies of the enemy? Do we pick and choose which scripture we want based on what we think? Are we sincerely seeking the Lord in all things, asking Him to reveal any and all garbage that we need to get rid of in our lives? I don’t want to tiptoe around anyone’s feelings here. If you are feeling in some way convicted of things in your life, well I am here to tell you, that is the Lord. He is using His Holy Spirit to cleanse His church. Pray and ask Him what it is He is saying to you today.

Todays prayer

Dear Lord, You are so good. We praise You and thank You for all You are and all that You are doing in our lives. Thank You for Your beautiful word. How wonderful it is to hear You speak to us from Your precious word. We see what Your will is in some of Your word. We know there is probably more about Your will, Lord God. But right now we want to focus on these scriptures that are listed. May You continue to renew our minds as your word teaches us in Romans 12:2. Lord, we ask You to reveal to us any bitterness or anger that we may have in our hearts. If we have failed You by not doing good when it was in our power to do it please forgive and cleanse Your children. Help us, Lord, to not get drunk on wine but be filled with the Spirit. If  we have  somehow allowed any sexual sin to be in our lives (even thought life) we ask for Your forgiveness. We turn from it and claim that You are the only God in our lives. We will bow to no other. Help us to read Your word and even reread Your word. We want to know what Your will is and we want to walk in the perfect center of Your will for our lives. We love You and praise You. You are our King and it is in Your  name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
