Unfailing Love

Psalm 119:41-48 NLT Lord, give me your unfailing love,  the salvation that you promised me. Then I can answer those who taunt me for I trust in your word.  Do not snatch your word of truth from me, for your regulations are my only hope.  I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever. I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.  I will speak to kings about your laws, and I will not be ashamed.  How I delight in your commands!  How I love them! I honor and love your commands. I meditate on your decrees.

One thing we learn here is that God’s love is unfailing. (without error or fault) Some synonyms of unfailing are unlimited, limitless, infinite, boundless, endless, never-ending, bottomless, untold, constant, reliable, dependable, steady, undying  and abundant. God’s love is all of those things. He doesn’t quit loving us ever. He has loved us from the beginning of creation. His love is evident in every page of scripture. He is nothing but love. He embodies  love, it is His very essence.

John 3:16-17 NLT For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.

See how much He loves? It is so much more than we can even imagine. God’s word is our hope, freedom, and delight. We need to fill our minds with the truth of the word of God. This is our answer, strength and comfort. In His word we receive help and direction for every step we take in this life. We do not have to walk this life alone! We have a Comforter, Someone who sticks closer to us than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24) This is great news! Just open the pages of the most holy book there is, the actual, living word of God, the Bible. (Hebrews 4:12)  See what God has in store for you. I promise you it will be magnificent.

Dear Lord,

You are most worthy of our praise. We exalt You. We proclaim that You are King of kings and Lord of lords. How mighty are You, Lord. We cannot say enough how marvelous You are. Thank You for another day which brings with it another opportunity to serve You, magnify Your name and honor You with all that we do and say.

We ask you to stir our hearts Lord to a closer relationship with You. Let us join with the psalmist in delighting in, loving, honoring, and meditating on Your word. Bring us into that sweet place of communion with You Lord. You know what time works best with every one of Your children. We trust You to make the way clear for us. Open our eyes so that we may see the beauty in Your word. You have everything we need in this life written down in Your holy word. May we bring honor to You as You grant us wisdom in and from Your word.

We can defeat giants in our lives with the knowledge contained in Your precious word. We know You love to give Your children good gifts, and the good gift that we want is a closer relationship with You. Thank You for showing Your love over and over in our lives. We worship You. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

  1. My prayer to Jesus this morning, “Dear Lord, please make me more and more like YOU!” It is in the “closer relationship” with Jesus that we learn to imitate His love and compassion. Your scripture and song choices help in that process. Thank you!
