Anchored In Jesus

Psalm 119: 57-64 NLT Lord, You are mine!  I promise to obey Your words!  With all my heart I want Your blessings. Be merciful as you promised.  I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow Your laws.  I will hurry, without delay,  to obey your commands.  Evil people try to drag me into sin,  but I am firmly anchored to Your instructions.  I rise at midnight to thank You  for your just regulations.  I am a friend to anyone who fears You—anyone who obeys Your commandments. O Lord, Your unfailing love fills the earth; teach me Your decrees.

Read those beautiful words again, and learn. Open your heart, obey and follow God’s commands. Make it personal as the psalmist did. Tell the Lord He is yours. Dedicate your life to Him. Promise to obey Him. Ask for His mercy and teaching. We will be spending eternity with Him. Don’t you think the time to know Him is now?

Find out where you stand in your relationship with God and then stand firm (Ephesians 6:13). Don’t let ANYTHING come between you and the Lord. Set a time every day for your alone time with Him. Pray, just talk to Him, be real. He knows our hearts anyway. So there’s no point in trying to hide anything from Him. Then start reading His word. Let Him guide you. He will supply you with  everything that you need to walk victoriously in life. God is good.

James 4:8-10 NLT So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.  Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy.  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

James 4:4 NLT  You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.

Joshua 24:15 NKJV And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

We are to be in the world, but not of it. It is up to us to have a higher standard and live by the law of God.  There is no time left to play games.

Revelation 3:16 NLT But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!

No more riding the fence, choose a side. The Lord is coming back for His bride, the church. We need to be cleaned up and ready!

Dearest Heavenly Father,

We praise You for Your goodness and Your mighty works You have done in the heavens and on earth. We praise You for life itself. Truly it is an amazing gift! Thank You so much for it and for being involved in Your children’s life. You gave us the right to be called children of God, those who have received You and have believed in Your name. (John 1:12) We love You and our soul cries out to You. You are God alone.

We are sorry, Lord, if we have let this world or the cares thereof come in between our relationship with You. If we have dishonored You in any way, I pray that You would forgive us,  Father, and draw us back into Your wonderful and holy presence. You are faithful to forgive us. Thank You for that. We lay aside any weight or sin that separates us and we will run the race that You have set aside for us to run. (Hebrews 12:1) We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13) Nothing is too hard for You. I praise You and thank You for drawing us in to Your open arms. You are amazing. With ever so much love, In Jesus name, Your children.
