Psalm 119:65-72 NLT You have done many good things for me, Lord, just as You promised. I believe in Your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge. I used to wander off until You disciplined me; but now I closely follow Your word. You are good and do only good; teach me Your decrees. Arrogant people smear me with lies, but in truth I obey Your commandments with all my heart. Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in Your instructions. My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to Your decrees. Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver.
What has God done for you today? You are alive, there is breath in your lungs, that my friend, is a gift from Him. We need to start setting our eyes and mind on things above (Colossians 3:2). What will please the Lord in our actions, our thinking and reasoning? Do those things. As we draw near to Him, He will reveal things to us about our lives, character, speech or other things that need to be corrected. Be ready, submitted and humble in His sight. He will lift us up. He is our God, our King! Change is not easy sometimes, but as God reveals things to you, be open to improvement. No correction is fun at times but it produces the peaceable fruit of righteousness (Hebrews 12:11). God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). We are but dust and to dust we all shall return (Genesis 3:19).
It is our soul that lives on. Where are we going to live forever at? The Bible talks of a literal fire and brimstone hell (Revelation 21:8), eternal separation from God (2 Thessalonians 1:9)….or we can choose the Lord and go to heaven! (John 3:16) It is just that simple. As His followers we need to follow Him and not the world. There is nothing in this world worth going to hell for. God loves us and doesn’t want ANY of us to be eternally separated from Him. He has provided a way out, an escape! All we have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus, ask Him to come into our heart and to forgive us for our sin. (Romans 10:9-10) God is faithful to forgive us. God is good!
Let’s follow Him wholeheartedly. Pleasures of this world are temporary (Hebrews 11:25). They pass away leaving us unfulfilled and most of the time emptier than before. Trust me, the one and only way to a deep and personal fulfillment that lasts is a relationship with Jesus. Bit by bit, as He reveals things to us, after we repent, there should be change. Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, “Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more” (John 8:11). We all fall and fail the Lord sometimes. When that happens just let Him pick you back up and set your feet on the rock. Our God is a good God fully loving and all-powerful. There is nothing He can’t do through a heart completely yielded to Him.
Let’s pray
Dearest heavenly Father,
It is with all praise we sincerely come before Your precious throne. You are so awesome. Words cannot say how magnificent You are. You are so good to Your children. Thank You for Your goodness and mercy.
Lord, we come before You today asking You to clean us up. Reveal anything that is separating us from You. If there is any bad behavior, thought or attitude that You see, please speak to our hearts right now and reveal it to us so that we can repent and be brought into right relationship with You. We are sorry for letting anything creep in and steal Your rightful spot. You are our only hope. If someone reading this doesn’t know You personally, we pray that they would continue to seek You out. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Isaiah 55:6-7 NLT Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
