The Struggle is Real

Psalm 119:105-112 NLT Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.  I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey Your righteous regulations.  I have suffered much, O Lord;  restore my life again as you promised.  Lord, accept my offering of praise, and teach me Your regulations.  My life constantly hangs in the balance,  but I will not stop obeying Your instructions.  The wicked have set their traps for me,  but I will not turn from Your commandments.  Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.  I am determined to keep Your decrees to the very end.

To the very end. Are we determined to keep God’s decrees to the very end? Have we established the fact that He is Lord of our lives and we want nothing more than to bring Him joy? Are we going to be led astray, or turn away from God in the face of adversity? Make no mistake, my fellow Christ follower, there is a spiritual war going on. The Lord will be the victor in the end. The Bible says many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all (Psalm 34:19). This life is not a cake walk. It is hard sometimes. There will be times we are persecuted unfairly, hated, betrayed and deceived (if possible Matthew 24:24) but he who stands firm to the end shall be saved (Matthew 24:9-13).

Ephesians 6:10-12 NLT A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

The struggle is real, but the Lord is faithful, He will not give us more than we can bear and will provide us with a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). All that we need to do is trust Him. We serve a chain breaking, miracle working, mountain moving, dead man rising, all-powerful, all-knowing, nothing can stop Him, God. The One who was and is and is to come the Lord Almighty. He is our dad! Relax, He’s got you.

Pray with me please,

Dear precious Lord,

We thank You for continuing to draw us closer to You. You have shown us the way, may we honor You by actually walking in it. Teach us to observe Your commands. May we, every day, walk in a way which is pleasing to You. We trust You Lord, knowing that You are there to catch us if ever we start to fall. Your hand is not to short to reach us. There is nothing You wouldn’t do for Your children. Help us to understand that there is a spiritual war going on and we need to remember that. Help us to put Your armor on every day and fight the Good fight until the day You call us home. Forever we will be Your humble servants. We pray this in Jesus’ name.

Ephesians 6:13-18 NLT Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.  Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.  For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.  In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Remember it’s a war out there. No good soldier would dare to enter the battlefield without his or her protective armor. We are in it to win it, so suit up!

  1. I love these verses about putting on God’s armour (sorry about the archaic English spelling!). These verses and the images are something that has been speaking to me very recently and giving me more courage in my Christian stand. It’s certainly a battle and we have to always be aware. Thank God He is stronger than the enemy!
    Thanks Donna Marie. x

    1. Yes He is stronger. I believe we just have to remember to ask Him every day to put it on. That is what a soldier does every day before he goes into battle. Knowledge is power and the deeper we go into the word of God, the more He will reveal to us. Be blessed today my online friend. God is awesome in you. ♡

  2. Interesting, I went to your post and found my answer. My question I had yesterday as I studied Exodus 28 is “What other book was I studying the garb?” God set every detail for Moses brother, Aaron’s clothing to be worn as a high priest. It was also in Ephesians, which you mentioned that He gives us the armour of God. Thank you!

    1. You are most welcome. God is good to give us everything we need. He has provided it all. Have a great day. We have finally got some warmer weather, so maybe some strolling around outside is in order for me today. Be blessed!
