Hell

Well, here is one that people do not speak about anymore. I just want you to see what the Bible says about Hell. Who it is reserved for and why they are going there. Let it be known that I intend to speak the truth from ALL of God’s word. Not just words to humor you, but the actual meat and truth that is found in the scriptures. I am not here to please people, but to please God. Indeed, I hope that everyone reading my blog is blessed, but that is for God to determine. My only job is to speak His truth in love. Today, we will see what the Lord has to say, according to His word, about hell.

Lord, please take the blinders off of Your people and let us all understand Your word. In Jesus’ name.

Revelation 20:11-15 NASB Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Is your name recorded in the Book of Life? How about your loved ones or neighbors? The time to seek the Lord is now! There must be a cleansing among the people of God. We have to be able to share the gospel with everyone we know. I always tell them, “Look, I won’t keep preaching to you, but, I love you and I really believe there is a heaven and there is also a hell. Would you mind if I shared with you at least one time what I believe and then I won’t share it anymore? (Unless, of course) God tells me to.” Then they have the opportunity to accept or reject the message of Christ. Just remember, if they reject the message, It isn’t you that they are rejecting, it is Christ (Matthew 10:14).  It is extremely important to always pray first, that God would go ahead of you softening the heart of the people that you are to speak to. Ask Him to take the blinders off of their eyes so that they can see the light of the glorious gospel.

Here is a link to pray for deliverance for your loved ones. Just insert their names and pray, believing. God is good. https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2019/12/11/praying-deliverance/

Revelation 21:7-8 NLT All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

In this passage Hell is described as a fiery lake of burning sulfur. Eternal punishment, destruction, away from the presence of the Lord! (2 Thessalonians 1:9) That is going to be a sad day for many. Heart wrenching, and very sad day indeed.

Matthew 25:31-46 NLT

“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32 And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, just as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33 and He will put the sheep on His right, but the goats on the left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’

41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you accursed people, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ 44 Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or as a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not [a]take care of You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it for one of the least of these, you did not do it for Me, either.’ 46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

This passage shows even more why salvation leads us to true repentance and instills in us a desire to want to serve the Lord with all of our heart. It  reinforces the fact that our relationship with the Lord is a matter of the heart. Jesus said we who listened to our heart and fed the hungry, entertained strangers, gave to the poor, visited those in the hospital and in prison, are the ones who will inherit the Kingdom. Those are all things we try and do because we have such love inside of us from the Father that we cannot contain it. We must share the love of Christ.

Unfortunately, those who have rejected Christ and His message of love will not share in eternal blessings, but rather they will be tormented in eternal punishment,  the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons! This is why it is imperative that we get the word of God out now to everyone we know. The time is short. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. We do not want our loved ones to share in this horrible fate awaiting those who reject God.

Let’s look at the word eternal. The definition is lasting or existing forever, and without end.  Some synonyms are continual, unremitting, relentless,  never ending, incessant, and endless. Punished forever! Hell never ends. In this life we have troubles, but we all know that sooner or later we will all eventually die. It is just the way that we were made. It is our soul that lives on forever. A choice must be made. Either we turn to God and live fully committed to Him or we reject God and live without hope. If we choose to live for Him, then we have a wonderful eternity that never ends with Him, in His presence. Oh what a glorious day! The sad part is that our loved ones and others who have rejected Him will spend eternity in hell. Luke 3 verse 17 says that it is an unquenchable fire. Revelation 19:20 says it burns with sulfur.  Matthew 22:13 says there will be weeping! This should set our hearts on fire to witness for Him! That is why we need to live our lives in a  way that is pleasing to Him, so that it doesn’t cause anyone else to stumble (Matthew 18:6-7).

Luke 16:19-31 NASB “Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, enjoying himself in splendor every day. 20 And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores, 21 and longing to be fed from the scraps which fell from the rich man’s table; not only that, the dogs also were coming and licking his sores. 22 Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s arms; and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms. 24 And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set, so that those who want to go over from here to you will not be able, nor will any people cross over from there to us.’ 27 And he said, ‘Then I request of you, father, that you send him to my father’s house— 28 for I have five brothers—in order that he may warn them, so that they will not come to this place of torment as well.’ 29 But Abraham *said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 But he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”

People get ready, Jesus is coming. Yes and Heaven is real, but guess what? Hell is real too. We do not want anyone to go there. God doesn’t want anyone to go there. It is not His will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). You may ask why does a loving God send people to hell? Well, He doesn’t! They send themselves by rejecting the One and Only true Savior! Men loved their evilness more than they loved God (John 3:19).  God gave us a free will. He didn’t want little clones running around that worshipped Him because they had to. He wants us to worship Him because we want to, because we love Him. He has even described hell in detail, so that, people will repent and come to Him. Please don’t harden your hearts any longer, but open your eyes to the truth of God’s word.

I am in anguish in these flames. I am in anguish in these flames. I am in anguish in these flames. Let these words sere our hearts today.

Father God,

We adore You. There is no-one like You in all the earth. You are glorious and You shine brighter than the noonday sun. Thank You for rescuing us from eternal separation from You, through the body and blood of Jesus Christ, our Savior (John 3:16).  Thank You for preparing our hearts for the glorious gospel. May we all be receptive to Your words and let there be a change in our mindset. Let us be transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2). Your word is truth and power!

Lord, please set our hearts ablaze with a desire to lead others to You. For indeed, our time is short. We know that none of us are guaranteed tomorrow. As Your ambassadors, let us shine so bright for Your kingdom. May we reach the lost at any cost. Open our eyes, ears and hearts to see, hear and have compassion for those that may be hurting around us and let us be Your ministers to them. People are scared now and this Coronavirus pandemic could be the very platform that You use to speak to the world about Your great love. I know, for a fact, that You can take a mess and make it a message because You have done it in my life. I once was lost and now I am found.

Let us all speak Your truth to the world. We love You and want to honor You with all of our hearts, minds and souls. Oh, that we would be pleasing to You, Father. Thank You so much. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at luckd61@yahoo.com I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.

  1. This is a vital message, Donna. Everyone’s thrilled at the prospect of Heaven, but we also have to acknowledge the Scripture relating to Hell. And, as you say, God doesn’t want any of His children to go there, but we need to believe in Him and trust Him first. There’s no place in Heaven for anything or anyone corrupt. 🙏

  2. Spot on, Donna. And no need to qualify this topic (as you did in the introduction). In fact, it can be said that telling unbelievers about Hell is the most loving thing we can do. They need to know. I’ve written a blog on this topic, noting that it is Jesus Himself who speaks more on Hell than any other individual in the Bible, and He does so directly and without apology.

Great job on this blog, and just keep writing as the Lord directs you!

  3. God bless you, Donna, on this Good Friday. If we don’t meet personally on earth, I will ask Peter to let me greet you at the Heavenly Gates when you get there. And I will thank you with songs of joy for your beautiful work on earth. May many come to Christ because of your faithful inspiring witness. ♥️🙏
