Happy Easter everyone! He is risen! Have you heard the saying, curl up with a good book? I say, curl up at the feet of Jesus and receive His rest, comfort, power and strength. Receive His refreshing.
John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This verse means so much to me. It is one of the beginning verses I learned when I gave my heart to Jesus. The love of God in giving His Son, who willingly laid down His life for the sins of not just me, but all of mankind, started me on my journey with Him. What great, immense and all powerful love. Love that is pure and unadulterated (complete and absolute). Love that doesn’t seek its own or require any kind of work to earn it! His love is a free gift. He doesn’t want any of us to perish. Look at the next verse with me.
John 3:17 NLT God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.
See? He didn’t come to condemn us but to save us. How? By His death, burial and resurrection. Our sin separated us from a loving and just God. All throughout scripture, sin requires a sacrifice of blood. Jesus came to satisfy the payment once and for all. There are no barriers anymore. No sacrifices that need to be paid. He gave the ultimate sacrifice on the cross for our sins. The story doesn’t end there. He was buried and even more good news, He arose! He is not still in the tomb! He lives and intercedes for us today. Listen to His word. Let Him speak to your heart today.
2 Corinthians 5:1-9 NLT For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. 2 We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 3 For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. 4 While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. 5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.
6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. 7 For we live by believing and not by seeing. 8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.
We know we have a house in heaven which is an eternal body made by God Himself according to scripture. That should give us hope. Sometimes we might get tired and grow weary, that is when we need to rest. That is also when other believers need to build us up and encourage us. It is okay to rest sometimes. God even commanded it. See more on that in my blog ‘Fourth of the Ten Commandments.’ https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2020/03/14/fourth-of-the-10-commandments/
We are going to have new heavenly bodies! That should make a lot of people smile knowing the joy of being able to walk for the first time with no pain, or to be able to hear, or sight restored! This will be an exciting time for us, as believers! Not to mention the ABSOLUTE best thing, WE WILL SEE JESUS!!! The One who Was and Is and Is to come, the Lord God Almighty, our Redeemer and Savior, The Only God of the universe who loves US and gave His life for our sins!
I am focusing today on verse 4. Let’s read it again. While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life.
We want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. What a statement. What a reversal in the way we think of death! We want to put on our new bodies (that God made), so that these dying bodies (created in sin and death) will be swallowed up in life. What a great and glorious day it will be! O death where is your sting? O grave where is your victory? (1 Corinthians 15:55)
Today, let’s rejoice because He lives. The One who died to set us free, now also lives and is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. He is our Interceder (Romans 8:34), Counselor and Friend!
He Lives
Music ~ Alfred H. Ackley, 1887 – 1960
Stanza 1:
I serve a risen Saviour; He’s in the world today.
I know that He is living, whatever men may say.
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him He’s always near.
Chorus:
He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.
Stanza 2:
In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary I never will despair.
I know that He is leading, thro’ all the stormy blast;
The day of His appearing will come at last.
Chorus:
He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.
Stanza 3:
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian! Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ, the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good and kind.
Rejoice, o Christian, indeed He lives! That is why we have hope! That is why we celebrate Easter! Praise God He lives!

Pray with me please,
Lord God,
Oh, most holy and righteous One, We bow at Your feet and cry, Holy! You are holy. We worship before Your throne with all the angels we sing holy, holy, holy! You are good and worthy of all praise. Thank You for the life that You give us in Christ. We are no longer slaves to sin, indeed we are children of God. Thank You for such sweet identity in Christ. Today, we just want to praise You for who You are and what You have done for us. Thank You so much for Your great love that was shown on the cross. We could never thank You enough Lord. Please accept our offering of praise before You. Some of us may be bringing a sacrifice of praise today, but we bring it regardless of the circumstances in our life. We bring praise and exalt You because that is what You deserve. It is not what we want sometimes, but You bless us for our faithfulness. Although, it is not what we want to do sometimes, it is always what we need. Your sweet presence is in our praise. So we do praise You today Lord, in Spirit and in truth. Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray.
James 1:5-7 AMP If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. 7 For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides].
We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at luckd61@yahoo.com I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.
