1 Thessalonians 5: 12-22 NLT Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. 13 Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other. 14 Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. 15 See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. 16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 19 Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 20 Do not scoff at prophecies, 21 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil.
Respect, love, live peaceably, warn, encourage, be patient, do good, be joyful, never stop praying and be thankful this is God’s will for us who belong to Christ.
Some synonyms for stifle are suppress, restrain, hold back, fight back, muffle, quench and silence. We are told not to stifle the Holy Spirit.
Some synonyms for scoff are mock and ridicule. We are not to scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. How do we test things? According to scripture.
Hold on to what is good and stay away from every kind of evil. Pretty good instructions straight from the word of God. How do we get there? Decide today who you are going to serve. (Joshua 24:15) Then, every decision you make put Him first. His will and His way are always the best will and way. For more info on putting God first read my blog titled First of the Ten Commandments.

Philippians 3:12-21 NLT
12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. 15 Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. 16 But we must hold on to the progress we have already made. 17 Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. 18 For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. 20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. 21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
What do we do? We press on, as Paul did. He hadn’t attained it, no-one can (Romans 3:10). We have to try though. We keep walking, witnessing, loving, smiling, helping and hoping. We press on. Forget the past and press on! We too, can overcome any obstacles that satan puts in our way as he tries to trip us up. We are more than overcomers through Christ (Romans 8:37). Jesus died to set us free. We are redeemed (Ephesians 1:7). We have been bought by the blood of the Lamb. Let us walk in that freedom. We must hold on to the progress that we have already made. What does that mean? It means whatever you have learned and know to be true of God so far in your walk with Him, hold on to it! Do not let go of what you know to be true by the word of God. I don’t care what the world says is okay. God’s way is different than the world’s way. We cannot keep holding hands with the world and say we are following the Lord. God and satan do not go hand in hand. The views are much different.
Revelation 3:11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown.
Philippians 2:12-15 NLT Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. 14 Do everything without complaining and arguing, 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
Dearest and most holy Lord God of all creation,
My soul cries for you. My soul longs for You, indeed nothing else will do. I need You, Lord. I do not want to take one breath without You being in it. Come and empower me, flood me with Your Holy Spirit. Make it known to my soul what way I am to walk in. Please, speak to my heart. Lead me in Your righteous way. Guide my footsteps, that the steps I take would all be ordained by You and I would be walking in the path that You have set out for me. I want to clearly hear You say to go, do or speak. I willingly submit my life to Your ownership. I am one of Your sheep, Lord. I will give You all the praise. You alone are worthy. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens, (Galatians 6:2) so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at luckd61@yahoo.com I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.

“We cannot keep holding hands with the world and say we are following the Lord.” This is so very true. We are in the world but should not be of the world. We have to choose to honor the Lord Jesus above all else. Thank you for the beautiful prayer. Hope you and your family are well. ❤️

Thanks ((((Dawn)))). Funny thing is, I had this post ready last night, as I always try to have them ready a day before, right? Well, I looked this morning and it wasn’t in my drafts where I put it, along with tags and everything I put there. So, I was like shoot, well, I guess I will just copy it here from my place of origin again, notepad, and do all the tags and links to songs again. But, as I was reading it, the Lord had me write that part about holding hands, as it wasn’t in what I wrote initially. And I had to change two of the song selections. Well, after I did that and posted my blog, guess what? The original draft I saved, lo and behold there it was. If I would have had the draft from last night, I would have just hit publish, and it wouldn’t be there. God is moving, and He is in charge. Oh, how I love Jesus. ❤
Thanks for your comment. I hope you and your family are well also. We are doing good. God bless you my sister in Christ. Air hugs from Wisconsin. 🙂

My sister, nieces and daughter live in Virginia. Way too far away from me. They live close to Danville. It’s a small world after all. 🙂

I have heard of Danville. It’s actually about 3 and 1/2 hours from me in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. I have never been to Wisconsin.

Well, if you ever get a chance to come to Wisconsin, let me know. I will buy you lunch at our favorite restaurant. It is called Ditas family restaurant. You have to go through Beloit to get anywhere in Wisconsin. That is where I live. Wouldn’t it be cool to meet in person? I could give my sister in Christ a real hug and a good lunch! ❤ Have a great weekend! 🙂

Wow! These are tall orders: “Respect, love, live peaceably, warn, encourage, be patient, do good, be joyful, never stop praying and be thankful this is God’s will for us who belong to Christ.” i pray daily for help with those very tasks and attitudes. Worthy pursuits, indeed!
