God’s People Perish For A Lack of Knowledge

My People Perish For A Lack of Knowledge. My People Perish For A Lack of Knowledge. My People Perish For A Lack of Knowledge. Those words from Our Lord in Hosea book four, verse six, just keep resonating through my mind. God is telling us here, why His people are perishing. Why are His people perishing? It is from a lack of knowledge. A lack of understanding, a lack of seeking God and understanding what His word says. What are we going to do about it? Let’s start digging deeper into God’s word. Open up our Bibles more and pray for discernment. Because of Jesus in us, in this lost, dark and dying world, we are His light, hope and joy. We are to show Christ’s love. We are the church. So let’s get on the move and go and tell the Good News, Jesus Saves!

Proverbs 1:7 NLT Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Matthew 10:26-33 NLT  “But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. 27 What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear! 28 “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. 32 “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.”

Shout the “good news” abroad! Don’t be ashamed of Jesus. He alone saves! The end is near. Please, tell people before it is eternally too late. We have to talk to others about Christ. Bring Him up in any way that you can, in your conversations. If people are talking about being thirsty, well ask them if they heard the story of Jesus and the woman from Samaria, how he Alone can give living water. Or if they are talking about food, ask if they heard about how Jesus fed the 5,000 with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread. Get creative. There are many ways to bring Christ into the conversation. If they are talking about being afraid, tell them Peter was afraid too when the winds got boisterous and how Jesus saved him when he started to sink and doubt, tell them Jesus can save them too. Ask people if they know Jesus. Ask if they have accepted Him into their hearts and repented of their sins. Let’s start talking! People are perishing! Why? Lack of knowledge.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 NKJV and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

We see here that scripture can prepare and equip us. There might be people that only you can reach for the Kingdom of God. Let’s adhere to the old saying each on reach one. Reach your one, then, go reach another and another after that. The message is clear. Please tell someone how Jesus saved your soul. Our time is short on this earth. Eternity is forever, it never ends!

Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

This scripture is called the Great Commission. I know a lot of you have heard the old saying, famous last words. Here are some recorded words from a lot of people. These words are important. They have helped to shape lives, change directions and encourage people.

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger said, “I’ll be back,” in his 1984 Terminator movie.
  • Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. said,  “Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty we are free at last.”
  • Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”
  • Francis Bacon said “Knowledge is power.”
  • William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, Prince Hamlet said “To be, or not to be: that is the question.”

With the spoken word God created everything that is, into existence (Genesis 1). People can be built up, encouraged, strengthened and empowered with words. Unfortunately, the opposite can happen with words as well. They can tear down, deplete and destroy. Proverbs 18:21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue.

That is why I feel the Great Commission is so important! Jesus spoke these final words to His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching people to obey everything Jesus had commanded the disciples. These were His final words. They are very important to us, today, as well as they were back in the disciples day.

My question for us to ponder is, If we do not read the word of God, how will we be able to give an answer to the hope that we have inside of us (1 Peter 3:15)? Let’s find out what God has to say in His word, then stick to it, tighter than glue. Do not let anyone deceive you. It is time to know, that we know, that we know what is the height and the depth and the breadth of the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:18). We need to hold fast to God’s word, so that no man can take our crown (Revelation 3:11),  by the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of us (Ephesians 6:10), with whom we are sealed (Revelation 7:3-4).  In Jesus’ name.

Pray with me please

Father God,

Oh how exceedingly wonderful You are. All of Your ways are right and true. There is nothing any better in all of the world than a close personal relationship with You! You are awesome and amazing! There is nothing You cannot do through a heart completely yielded to You. Lord, We yield to You today. We beg You for an increase in our understanding. We need wisdom to navigate Your word. I pray for a great enlightenment from Your Holy Spirit, that we would see the truth as outlined in Your word. Your word that is living and active, sharper than a 2-edged sword, piercing our soul and spirit, and judging our heart (Hebrews 4:12).  Thank You that You see not as a man sees, but You see our heart (1 Samuel 16:7)! Please, Lord give us the desire to have Your knowledge and the boldness to speak Your word to a lost and dying world, a world that You died for. Help us to lay down our life and serve You with all of our heart.  Receive all of the glory, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at luckd61@yahoo.com I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.
