Teaching for All

Titus 2:1-15 NLT

As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching. 2 Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.

3 Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. 4 These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, 5 to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.

6 In the same way, encourage the young men to live wisely. 7 And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching. 8 Teach the truth so that your teaching can’t be criticized. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us.

9 Slaves must always obey their masters and do their best to please them. They must not talk back 10 or steal, but must show themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. Then they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive in every way.

11 For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, 13 while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. 14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

15 You must teach these things and encourage the believers to do them. You have the authority to correct them when necessary, so don’t let anyone disregard what you say.

There are directions here for the older men v 1-2, older women and younger women v 3-5, young men v 6-8, and employees (slaves) v 9-10. Then Paul groups us all together, as salvation is for all people v 11-15. We are all instructed to turn from godless living and live with wisdom, righteousness and devotion to God. That is true for men and women, old or young alike. We look forward to the day when we shall see Jesus in the skies, coming back for His bride. We just need to be ready and heed sound advice straight from the word of God.

Pray with me please

Father,

You are so precious to me. I love You Lord. I love Your words. Thank You for the wisdom that is contained in the pages herein. I praise You and thank You for bestowing such wisdom upon us. Lord, I beg You to open our eyes to any kind of sin that is keeping us from You. Remove it, Lord, and restore us to a right relationship with You. Help us to be totally committed to doing good works. Thank You for the precious life of Jesus, our Savior. We do not take it lightly what He had to endure on the cross. Help us to live right and to do what is right in Your sight. Speak to everyone reading and help us, Your very own people, to do better, be better, act better, speak better, love better, forgive better….Lord anoint us with Your oil to be Your children in word and in deed (1 John 3:18). We will praise You and magnify Your name, our King Jesus. It is in Your name we pray. Amen.

We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens, (Galatians 6:2) so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at luckd61@yahoo.com I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.

  1. Yes, Lord, as a Sunday School teacher of little students, I particularly related to this sentence and pray it every day: “Let everything i do reflect the integrity and seriousness of my teaching.” Help me, Lord, always to “Walk the Talk.”
