Philippians 1: 27-30
27 Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. 28 Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself. 29 For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him. 30 We are in this struggle together. You have seen my struggle in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of it.
The word of God says that we need to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Why is that important? Because others are looking at our lives. What are they looking in at? Will they see us acting the way that the Bible says for us to act? In everything we do or say, we are to bring honor to His name. That is our calling. We have to be different than the world, so God can use our lives to draw others to His side (Mark 16:15). We are to grow in the fullness of Christ (2 Peter 3:18) and be mature believers (Colossians 1:28) rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
We have to stand together, united and with one purpose. The purpose of sharing the Good News with others (Mark 16:15) and drawing others out of the kingdom of darkness into His glorious light. We have the privilege of suffering for Christ. To me that means the true church will be persecuted for His sake (Philippians 1:28-30). Those who endure to the end will be saved (Matthew 24:13). We are in this struggle together, the word of God says this. We can make it. We just need to stand firm and having done all stand (Ephesians 6:13).
We praise You, for You alone are worthy of all of our praise. You are holy, righteous and just. There is no-one worthy but You of all honor, power and glory (Revelation 4:11). We adore You Lord. We are here, at Your feet, to learn from You what it is that You would have for us to do today, in our walk with You. We ask You for unity among Your believers. We pray that hearts of true Christ followers everywhere would be united, in our message of the glorious gospel of Good News. In this world, we may have trials and tribulations, but that is okay because we have You and Your power working through us. Greater are You Lord, who is in us, than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). This world is not our home (Hebrews 13:14). We are going to a better place. Let our lives bring honor to You Lord. Let people look at us and say “wow, I need what they have.” Let the world see peace, strength and wonder working power through us, Your children. We so want You to be pleased with us. Nothing else matters. Yours is the only way, the only truth, the only path that we want to walk in. There is no way to get to the Father other than through Jesus (John 14:6). Thank You, Lord, for Your peace, protection and provision. Light us up Lord with the glorious truth of Your gospel. Let us shine, ever so brightly, in this dark world. You are holy and we want to shout that fact from the mountains. Open our mouths so that we can share with others. Give us Your words and the opportunities to speak forth the truth in due season. Let Your will be done in our lives, for it is in Jesus’ name that we pray. Amen.
We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens, (Galatians 6:2) so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.
