Smashing the Lies

1 John 2:15-17 NLT Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

1 John 3:13 NLT So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.

John 15:18-21 NLT “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. 19 The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. 20 Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you. 21 They will do all this to you because of me, for they have rejected the one who sent me.

All who follow Jesus will be hated (Matthew 24:9).

Steven was stoned to death (Acts 7:59).

James was killed by Herod (Acts 12:2-3).

Saul had his name changed to Paul then he was threatened and persecuted ( 2 Corinthians 11:23-27).

Why does world hate us so much?

  • If the world hates you it is because you are not of the world. See we live in the world, but we are not of it. Meaning we do not practice the fleshly desires that the world does. We submit to the Lord and His word as our direction for life. The world has no True direction.

We are in a spiritual battle, and that is why we need our armor on every day. Read my blog on the armor of God, titled, The Struggle is Real in the link below.

https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2020/03/01/the-struggle-is-real/

  • If the world hates you it is because the world holds points and opinions that we don’t. They are also accepting of things we aren’t. It also believes things that we don’t believe.
  • If the world hates you it’s because we are the conscious of the world.

Ephesians 5:11-12 NLT Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.

Romans 1:18-32 NIV

God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Pro 29:27 NLT The righteous despise the unjust; the wicked despise the godly.

2 Corinthians 4:1-6 NLT

Treasure in Fragile Clay Jars

Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way,[a] we never give up. 2 We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.

3 If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

5 You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 6:14 NLT As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.

Philippians 2:13-15 NLT  For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. 14 Do everything without complaining and arguing, 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

Colossians 1:11-14 NLT

11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, 12 always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. 13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

1 Peter 5:8-9 NLT

8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

Father,

Oh, how I adore You. I praise You, Lord, for You goodness and mercy. I praise You for Your righteousness and direction. I praise You for You are worthy of all praise. You are good and Your goodness extends to generations of those who love You. Lord, today there is a lot of meat from your word (that is powerful and transforming) here for us to digest. I pray that we would soak it in. That we would get Your word deep in our soul and understand the purpose that we have on this earth. Our time is short Lord and we want to be following You wholeheartedly and unashamed. Help us to grow in You so that we can reach the lost in this world. Thank You for letting us see today why there is a separation between us and the world and also why they hate us. Help us to continue shining for Your glory. We need You Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens, (Galatians 6:2) so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at luckd61@yahoo.com I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.

  1. The conscience of the world? That’s a heavy load! “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Lord, help me, a sinner, to keep Your Word in my heart and live a life worthy to be called Christian. Thank You for Your Word And this blogger who selects scriptures to remind me of the great responsibility it is to be called your Follower.

    1. I know. It is a huge responsibility. Thank God for His grace to help us. (2 Corinthians 1:12) Thank God that we are sinners saved by grace and it is through His grace we will be able to shine in this dark world, by walking close to Him and following His commands. He is the One to be glorified. Yes we will probably make mistakes but His grace is sufficient. The One who chose us is faithful. He will supply ALL of our needs according to His riches in glory. God is so good. God is so good, He’s so good to me…. remember that song? Thank you for your comment. God bless you (((Jan))). This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine….another good Sunday school song. Funny how they all come to mind. ♡

    1. Like a roaring lion. Isn’t that an amazing illustration? Seeking whom he may devour…he is no respecter of persons. He wants us all. Thank God that He who is in us is greater than satan. (1 John 4:4) All praise to king Jesus. Thanks for your comment. Blessings. ♡
