Our focus needs focus. We need to focus on what binds us together and not on what divides us.
Colossians 3:1-17 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. 7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. 8 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. 9 Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. 10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. 11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.
12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
The secret to peace is written in the word of God over and over. Look at verse two again, Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Where is our focus? When you spend time alone with God, you come out feeling refreshed and invigorated. He is our power, our strength, our resource for peace amidst all of the pain and suffering. He is our Lifeline. He has thrown the life preserver (Bible) out for us to grab ahold of and be led to safety. The thing is, are we taking the time to dwell in His presence? We need Him now more than ever. How about morning, afternoon and evening we make Him our priority. How about if we, indeed, dwell in His presence?
We need to be able to give to others, right now, who are broken, without hope and without God. Let’s show people what a life completely surrendered to the Lord can bring. Let’s be the functioning ones in a world of disfunction, the hopeful ones in a world full of hopelessness, the loving ones in a world full of selfishness. We need to truly embody Christ in our words and thoughts, and actions. How about if our marriages were prospering right now? What about if our children were happier?
Our lives need to be shining forth the light from spending time with the Lord. There needs to be a difference between us and the world. Such a distinguished amount of difference that the unsaved people in the world will say, ‘hey what do you have going on that gives you such peace, joy and self control?’ Remember, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). That fruit will be evident in our lives when we spend time with God. It is my desire that many people come to know the Lord because of our life’s testimony. Make the decision now to be worshipping, spending time with Him or even just honoring Him when He returns. Can you imagine being in the middle of singing our favorite song or listening to our favorite scripture that instantaneously we hear the trumpet sound and then we see our Lord? It is okay to turn the TV, computer and smart phone off. The sound we need to be listening for will be heard above all in the heavenlies. The wonderful trumpet sound announcing our Lord’s return. Oh what a day that will be when our Jesus we will see! Read my blog titled, Be Ready, to read about the wonderful dream I had of the Lord’s imminent return. Be blessed my friends. https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2020/01/23/be-ready/
Pray with me please
Our Father,
We cry, with the angels, that You are holy. Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. We praise You. You will have Your way. Everything will happen according to Your will. We plead the blood of Jesus over our homes, health and finances. We declare victory! It is in the mighty name of Jesus we pray believing.
We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), so if there are any prayer requests feel free to leave them in the comment section. I would be honored to pray with you. If it is more private you can always contact me via email at luckd61@yahoo.com I check that every day. Blessings to you all, till we meet again, tomorrow, if the Lord is willing. Peace.

Hi Donna. I’ve recently been spending too much time on a blog with ‘armchair politicians’ who bash the government and complain about everything. Last week I could feel myself getting agitated and knew it was time to ‘get out’. I’ve spent lots of time with the Lord since then and I already feel uplifted.
It’s good to behave responsibly while we’re here on earth, but we have to be careful not to get distracted from our main mission as Christians. 💞

Good morning Lesley,
Oh how I love your openness. You are one genuinely authentic individual. I love how you follow the Lord. ♡♡♡
Yes we can get too carried away with different winds and waves, that is why it is so vital to come back to the Lord and receive His refreshing. He doesn’t want us on the battlefield as wounded soldiers. He is our strength and our protection.
God bless you my sweet and open friend. May He bless you richly for being so open. Stay strong sister! The devil is out there seeking to kill, steal and destroy.
Lots of love being sent to you ♡across the miles♡ your sister in Christ Donna Marie:)

Thank you, Donna. I appreciate your words and will bear in mind that I have to prevent myself from becoming a wounded soldier. That’s a great way of looking at it!
Lots of love, Lesley 🙌💝

There is so much truth in this post Donna! As Christians people should see a difference that makes them want to know what they must do to be saved. I pray we as Christians would resolve to follow Jesus instead of the ways of the world. Thank you for sharing this!!!

You are quite welcome. May there be a great awakening, a huge revival across the land. Oh that all nations would fall to their knees and seek the Lord.
May we, as Christ followers, be filled with the brightest light ever through Christ. May His word dwell in us fully as He empowers us to walk in victory all the days of our lives. Oh to shine for Jesus is my plea.
Thanks for your precious comment. God bless you sister!♡
