Yes America Racism Sadly Still Exists

What a sad, sickening day in America. Our hearts are broken for the family of George Floyd. We want justice. We want racial equality. Will it ever cease? That is our hope. One day when we get to heaven, there will be no more divisions. On this earth I don’t believe that will happen because of the sin in this world. Men are lovers of their own self and not lovers of God (2 Timothy 3:2).

If we want to see a difference, we must cry out to God. Only He can make  an oasis in our desert time. One day things will  be different. When we get to heaven there will be no more hate, no more senseless crime (because of the color of your skin), no more sickness, no more abortion, no more violence, no more pestilence, no more disease….oh for the day that there will be NO MORE. It will be a day for us to rest. A day with never ending joy. A day with never ending peace.

“I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Make no mistake, brother or sister, there will be a day. A great and glorious day for some. Until that day, love the ones God put near to you. Love the ones far away. Love your neighbors and yes, love those who hate you and spitefully mock you. Remembering there will be a day of judgement. Even our worst enemy, we don’t want to see get thrown into the fires of hell (Revelation 21:8). There is no coming back from that. Let’s have that heart of love that Jesus wants us to have (Luke 6:28).

Father,

You are so holy, righteous and true. You are awesome and amazing. Everything You do is good and right. You are light and in You is no darkness (1 John 1:5-7).

Father, I want to lift the family of George Floyd to You right now. I pray that You would continue to be with them through one of the darkest and most insane hour they will ever have to face. Lord, be their strength when they feel they cannot go on. Comfort them as only You can. We believe that George Floyd is now in Your presence. He is no longer struggling for air. Oh, Father, it wasn’t right or fair for him to die in such an agonizing way. It isn’t fair that his family had to see it played out before their eyes. What horror! What inexpressible pain. My heart is indeed broken for the family of George Floyd.

Lord, please let there be an end to senseless violence. Help us to be a voice for the voiceless. Let us do and say what is pleasing in Your eyes and ears. May we not be silent anymore but rather speak out about the injustices in this world and demand justice. Whatever we need to do Lord, come to our rescue. Let us know what elected officials we need to call, what peaceful demonstrations we need to have, and how we can help our broken brother or sister in this their time of need. For it is in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Today I want us to have a time of weeping. For everything has a time and today find the time to weep for this family. There will be no song selection. Just a moment of silence to honor George Floyd.

This is my post from Facebook, I would like to share here as well.

This is so sickening, I do not even know what to say. Why is this happening in America? I am so hurt by this blatant disregard for human life. It hurts my heart. I want to do something, say something, make a difference somehow, but how? I care isn’t enough, or is it? How would I want others to feel? How does God want us to feel? I had to look to Martin Luther King, Jr., quote to see some insight…’Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.’ God is love and He is still the only way to reach people, to fix injustices, right the wrongs. We have to trust in His unfailing love in a time such as this. Pray more than ever before for the love of God to come down in a mighty, moving way. Pray for His will to be done. Pray for our brothers and sisters who, just because of the color of their skin have to be afraid to walk outside….really?!!! Pray for freedom from oppressors. Pray for our dear heavenly Father to help us all. Just pray.

  1. I’m with you 100% on every word of this post. Thank you for your love, conviction, voice of reason, and compassion. Thank you for the time of silence and the call for peaceful yet forceful protest. These fires and violence are not what George Floyd would have wanted. Lord, show us how to make a difference. This racism must STOP!!

      1. Thank you David. What a sad day indeed. My heart is broken for this family. Words aren’t enough, caring isn’t enough, or is it? I just wish I knew what to do or say to help. Tomorrow Efua is posting something that she said would help. I am looking forward to her post. God bless you David.

  2. My sister, this post brought tears to my eyes. Someone else understands. How are we as humans so heartless. How and why do we treat each other this way. I will never understand. We are all born, we live, we hope, we die. Why, why, why. When I see people, my patients, I have comforted so so many… never once do their race come into play before I spring into action to help preserve a life as we are able to do. How could this officer/ officers put a knee on someones neck while they plead to their mother!! Oh dear God. And his mother, what must she be feeling, oh Lord. I ask God to help me deal with this, so so heartbreaking, I have 2 sons, what manner of world did I birth them into???

    1. There are still so many good people sister. This was just pure evil personified. I pray that justice has its day. But will it really? Even a life for a life, would that satisfy? I am afraid not. Only through love can we make the world a different place. Not earthly love either, but the love of the Father. Jesus’ love. The love that ran red for the sins of all mankind. That is the love we need to exhibit. They will know we are Christian’s by our love. We cannot go wrong when we are operating in love. God bless you sister. I love you with the love of Christ. Together we will get through this. ♡ Air hugs. ♡ love, Donna Marie

    1. For His glory, indeed! Praise the Lord. He alone can make beauty from ashes. He will hold us all together until the time of His appearing. We just need to love a little more and be the hands and feet of Jesus to this lost and dying world and to our hurting brothers and sisters. Thanks for your encouragement. God bless.
