Bring Peace

Father,

We ask for Your peace to be prevalent in our lives. Shine forth through us to our homes, neighborhoods, cities, states and world. Nothing is impossible with You. We speak peace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Please bless us all and draw us closer to Your side for we ask in Jesus’ name.

John 3:4-10 NLT Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. 5 And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in Him. 6 Anyone who continues to live in Him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know Him or understand who He is.

7 Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 9 Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God. 10 So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God.

Matthew 7:15-20 NLT “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. 16 You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. 19 So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. 20 Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

John 8:3-11 NLT

3 As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.

4 “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. 7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” 8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. 10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”

11 “No, Lord,” she said.

And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

The problem is, sin abounds in our world. Do we really think that violence is the answer? That hatred and hate crimes will bring peace and equality? According to God’s word hatred stirs up conflict (Proverbs 10:12). We have to bring the Peace in a world of violence.

We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. There is no more color to separate us. We need to see what state the world is in right now. We are in a state of chaos, lawlessness and brokenness. This is a state of good verses evil, not black verses white. There is good and bad in every race. There is good and bad in every person. Jesus said no one is good except God alone (Mark 10:18). The Bible says the heart is deceitfully wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). The only hope we have, the only thing good that we have in us is Christ (Colossians 1:27).  We are sinners saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8). We are not saved of ourselves lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:9).

That is why we cannot let satan divide us any farther. Be on the right side holding the hand of Jesus when you hear that trumpet sound. (1 Corinthians 15:52) Because there will be many who say, (well let’s just read scripture)…..

Matthew 7:21-23 NLT “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in Your name and cast out demons in Your name and performed many miracles in Your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

We better be reading the word of God, knowing what His word says and abiding in Him. It is one thing to say that you are a Christian. It is quite another to show it.
