Grace of God

Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV    For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Hebrews 4:16 NIV   Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

James 4:6 NIV   But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

The definition of the word grace is the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.

Some synonyms are favor, generosity, kindness and good will.

Pray with me please

Heavenly Father, God of all creation,

We bow before You and declare You are worthy of all praise. You are holy, righteous and true (Psalm 119:137 & 145:17).  Thank You for You great mercy and grace (2 John 1:3). You loved us even while we were sinners. Before we made a decision for Christ, You loved us. (Romans 5:8) There is nothing we had to do to earn it (Ephesians 2:9).  You give us Your unmerited favor in our salvation. Thank You that because we have faith in You, that You have saved us from the terribleness of being separated from You. You alone have filled that empty hole in my heart that nothing else could ever fill. Lord, You know I had tried on my own to fill it with various things that just kept me wanting more, nothing ever filled that space. Thank You for leading me to Your feet and for forgiving me. Your great grace fills my heart with such gratitude, love and devotion. It is because of Your great love for me that I want to serve You with every ounce of my being. I don’t want to miss a thing Father. I want to hear Your voice and do Your will for every single thing that my hand touches. I am Your humble servant, forever grateful for Your love. Thank You for reaching down for me. I love You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

      1. I think it’s called an acrostic. Acronyms are like it. They stand for something- usually a company or an association – like FEMA (Federal emergency management association)
