2 John 1:7-11 NKJV For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. 9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
1 Timothy 4:1 NASB But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons
2 Timothy 4:3-4 NASB For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
2 Peter 2:1-3 NLT But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. 3 In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.
Romans 10:2-3 NASB For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. 3 For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
Romans 16:17-18 NASB Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18 For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.
James 1:26 NASB If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
Not everyone who says Lord, Lord is going to heaven. (Matthew 7:21-23) We have to know and follow the Word of God. James 4:17 says to him that knows to do good and don’t do it, to him it is sin. All sin separates us from God (Romans 3:23). If we confess our sin He is faithful to forgive us (1 John 1:9). John 3:16 tells us how much God loves us. He gave His life for our sin. No man comes to the Father except through Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth and the life. (John 14:6) If any man comes preaching a different gospel, let them be accursed. (Galatians 1:8-9) 1 John 4:1 says we are to try the spirits and see if they are from God. Ephesians 5:11 says we are to expose the works of darkness. That is why I have scripture listed today. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32). Let each of us work out our own salvation with fear and trembling before God (Philippians 2:12). He is the One we will bow before (Philippians 2:10), and answer to someday (Romans 14:10-12). Let’s make sure we get it right now. We want to hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful child. Enter into the joy of the Lord” (Matthew 25:21).
Pray with me please
You are wisdom, grace and truth. You are awesome and amazing. I truly could sing of Your love forever. Thank You for rescuing me from self-destruction. Thank You for seating me in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). Thank You for Your great love (John 3:16).
You are the Light of this world (John 8:12). Help me to walk in the light as You are in the light. Let me have complete and unending fellowship with You. I want to shine for You with every word I say, every step I take and everything I do. I want my life to be a living testament to Your greatness. I want people to see Christ in me, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). I want to display Christlike love at all times. I want to exemplify the definition of love as found in 1 Corinthians chapter 13.
Lord, be magnified in me. Please use me to draw many to Your kingdom. Expose the lies of the enemy. Let Your children be free, in Jesus’ name, to see the truth. Anoint the eyes of all reading so that they too may know the truth and understand what is the depth and height and breadth of Your love (Ephesians 3:18). Work in us Father as we remain fully submitted and committed to adhering to Your word and the truth as we know what You have revealed to us. May we walk in that truth, so that others will see as well. Oh Lord, it is in Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
