The Father’s Feet

Today I just have been meditating on how Martha and Mary must have felt being around Jesus. Well the one who has most of my thoughts is Mary. Mary chose that which is better. The Lord said so to Martha.

Luke 10:38-42 NASB

 38 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; 42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

This is what the Lord had me to build this website on. It is my desire to draw readers literally to the Father’s feet. So that we can learn and grow together.

I just wonder what Mary was learning at Jesus feet. What was He teaching her at the time? I imagine whatever it was, well I know for a fact that it was on, through and or by love. Love led Him no matter what the topic. Love led Him to call them out on their sins (Matthew 23), overturn tables (John 2), heal the sick (Matthew 9:35), die for the sins of mankind (John 3:16) and make disciples (Matthew 4, Mark 1 & Luke 5). He even said to hang all the laws on love.

Matthew 22: 37-40 KJV

[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

So fellow child of God, this is my vision. This is why I started blogging. I want to share what the Holy Spirit leads me to share about the wonderful works of God. I want His guidance every day as to the topic and how to approach it. This may or may not be in various formats but one thing will be in common, and that is to point others to God by sitting at His feet. Won’t you make a commitment to follow Him with me?

 

Oh precious, loving and merciful Father,

I adore You. I so want to walk in complete obedience to the calling You have placed on my life. Whatever it is that You want me to do or say, may I be bold enough to be Your witness on this earth. People need You Lord, so I need to be shining Your light so brightly. I can only do this with Your help. Here I am Lord, use me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
