Sin Separates Us From God
Isaiah 59:2 NASB But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,
And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.
Galatians 5:19-21 NLT When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
1 John 3:9 NASB No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 2:1 ESV My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1 John 1:8-10 ESV If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
James 5:16 NASB Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
How it saddens me to hurt You in any way, and yet I know I have. I sincerely apologize for the sin that I have allowed to separate me from You. I should be better at controlling my anger and it is against Your will for me to react in the flesh. I am truthfully sorry, Lord. I beg You to restore our relationship and make me even stronger in my desire to fulfill Your purposes in my life. Thank You for Your word, Your precious and holy word, that is our light. You have said in Your word to confess our sin. You have also said that we have an Advocate with You in Jesus our Lord (1 John 2:1). You are so good to us, Lord. I do not want anything coming between us to where You do not listen to me. Thanks for Your forgiveness. I now ask for restoration. ( 1 Peter 5:10) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Romans 6:1-2 KJV What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
1 Corinthians 15:56-58 NIV The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
