There is a God (Genesis 1:1 & 1 Corinthians 8:6).
He is not dead (Luke 20:38).
God is love. He loves you and desires to spend quality time together with you (1 Timothy 2: 3-4).
He has good things in store for you ( 1 Corinthians 2:9).
He longs to give good gifts to His children (Matthew 7:11).
You are so special and unique in His eyes (Isaiah 43:4). You were created by the God of the universe and your life has meaning and purpose (Psalm 139:13). If I were talking to you face to face this is what I would say according to the Bible.
- First of all, you have to understand that sin is ugly. It separates us from God because He is holy (Romans 3:23). He cannot be in or around sin. When He comes into a dark room, the room then becomes light for He is light and in Him there is no darkness (1 John 1:5).
- With that in mind, please realize that God paid the highest price for our sins. He so wants fellowship with us that He allowed His Son to be crucified (John 3:16). There has to be an atonement for sins. In the old times it was the blood of the lamb and a lot of laws and ordinances (Leviticus 16). The blood of Christ cleanses us from all the unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). That is, if, you accept Him as Your Savior. In order to do that, you have to believe in your heart that Jesus came from heaven, (John 3:13) that He is the Son of man (Matthew 9:6) and the Son of God,( 1 John 4:15) that He died on the cross and was buried. Then by the power of God He was raised on the third day (1 Corinthians 15: 3-4), and is in heaven where He sits at God’s mighty right hand (Luke 22:69, Ephesians 1:20 & Colossians 3:1).
- After believing this, you have to confess what you believe with your mouth (Romans 10:9-10) and ask God to come into your heart and forgive you for your sins. He is there knocking (Revelation 3:20). A simple sinners prayer is: Father, I believe that Jesus came to this earth to save me from my sins. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and that He rose from the dead. I am sorry for my sins. Please forgive me. I ask You to come into my heart now and be the Lord of my life. In Jesus’ name.
- Now just keep reading the Bible (Romans 10:17 & Psalm 119:11), so that you can know His will and way for your life. He will never leave you or forsake you (Matthew 28:20 & Deuteronomy 31:6). Upon His promises you can stand (2 Corinthians 1:19-20). I beg you to trust Him today please. He will help you with everything you need in life. Just keep talking to Him. That is all prayer is, a conversation between you and God. He wants to hear from His children. He knows what we are thinking anyways so always be real with Him. You will find that He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
