Revelation 2:4-5 NASB But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent.
Friends, have you lost your first love? I am not condemning you. There is now therefore no condemnation to those in Christ (Romans 8:1). I am lovingly asking you to look inwardly at your own heart. Have you moved away from Christ? Have you lost your love for Him? Is your desire to please Him with all you think, do and say? Are you excited to read your Bible every day? Are you making time to listen for His voice? Have you lost your focus? Do you have that joy unspeakable?
Listen, friends, we can become bombarded, misguided and overwhelmed with the immense depravity of our world right now. It isn’t hard to find an immeasurable amount of perversity, insanity and ungodliness running rampant in our society. The media broadcasts it like watering grass seed. Sooner or later those seeds sink in. But what are we allowing to be watered? Indifference? Intolerance? Forbearance?
STOP THE MADNESS!!!
Friends, we cannot walk in the fullness of His Spirit while carrying around the weight of the world. Lay down those things and run with endurance the race that is before each of us (Hebrews 12:1).
Hebrews 12:2 NASB fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God
His word is life. He provides food, and water to the soul through His word. He speaks to us through His word. Just like a body deprived of water and proper nourishment will dehydrate and starve, so does our soul without it receiving from the Lord. Jesus said apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).
Take back control. Bring back the joy of the Lord. He is waiting. He doesn’t want our eyes on the storm. He wants our eyes on Him. How much time do you spend on social media or watching the news? Take that time and cut it into a much smaller amount. Give the majority of your time to the Lord. Come back to Him. Let Him restore your joy. He will give you guidance, strength and power. Just run back to Him. Run back to Him with me please.
Matthew 11:28-30 NLT Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Thank You for always calling us back to You. You are good and You are faithful. We are throwing down all the garbage that is clouding our view of You. We are putting our running shoes on and are going to run right into Your arms.
Oh Father, there is such sweet, warm and immense comfort in Your presence. Thank You for Your word. Thank You that You will never leave us or forsake us. Thank You for Your great love. Thank You for calling us back in to fellowship with You. Thank You for Your great power living in us. Thank You that You will enable us to continue to be devoted to You living pure and holy lives.
Forgive us if we have failed You in any way and set our hearts ablaze for Your kingdom. May we always be on guard against any attacks of the enemy through any and all of his deceptive ploys. We declare You, the great I Am, are our God, our King and our Love. Please increase our ability to love You even more. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
