Matthew 7:24 NASB Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Proverbs 15:4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life,
But perversion in it crushes the spirit.
Matthew 12:36-37 But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
Proverbs 11:9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,
But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
James 3:5-10 So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! 6 And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell. 7 For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. 8 But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; 10 from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way.
Oh, how I love Your word! You give us just the right amount of light for our journey. Your word gives understanding and hope! Thank You for the knowledge contained in Your word. I pray that You would continue molding us into Your children through our words and deeds. I ask that You would put a guard over our mouths (Psalm 141: 3), so that no unwholesome thing would be said, that we would only bless You with our words (Ephesians 4:29). Help us Lord, as we continue building our house on You! Let the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing in Your sight (Psalm 19:14). In Jesus’ name we pray.
