Revelation 14:7 KJV Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Fear God– The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. We learn also in Proverbs 14:27 that the fear of the Lord is a fountain of wisdom. So, let’s attain wisdom, shall we? Proverbs 8:13 says the fear of the Lord is the hatred of evil. In Ecclesiastes 12:13 we read, “Fear God and Keep His commandments.”
Give glory to Him- In everything we do we are to give glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:31). We have been bought with the blood of Christ so we are to glorify God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:20). We can show Him glory (praise, honor & distinction) by the things we do or say.
Worship Him-Show Him reverence and adoration. We worship God because He is holy. He is worthy of all praise. Worship should bring us to a deeper level of closeness with God. He is the Only One we should kneel before (Leviticus 26:1 & Psalm 95:6).
John 4:23-24 NKJV But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Holy, heavenly Father,
We ascribe all greatness, glory and power are Yours. You hold everything in our world together. We seek You Lord. We want to be pleasing in Your sight, especially in our worship. Teach us holy Father, how to honor You with our praise, which You are so worthy of. Thank You for being with us and guiding us, Lord. We lay down anything that is displeasing to You and come before You humbly seeking Your will and Your way. Lord, I ask that You be pleased with our sacrifice of praise (Hebrews 13:15). I love how we think we are sacrificing something as minute as our time and when we do, You always bless us more than we could ever imagine. You are so good to all of Your children. Thank You for our life. Be exalted as we bow in Your presence. We ask all things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
