Repent defined is to feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrongdoing or sin. The word repentance in the Bible literally means “the act of changing one’s mind.” True biblical repentance goes beyond remorse, regret, or feeling bad about one’s sin. It involves more than merely turning away from sin.
Acts 3:19 NASB Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord
Matthew 3:2 NASB Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Luke 5:31-32 And Jesus answered and said to them, “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”
You are so good. I cannot say enough how wonderful You are and how much I love you. Thank You for the love that You showered me with on the cross. And not just me, but for all who believe. I do believe. I shout Jesus, You are Lord. You are my Rock, Savior, Deliverer and Friend.
Thank You, Jesus, that You have gone before me to secure a home with You for all eternity (John 14:3). This world will surely pass away (Matthew 24:35). All that remains is our future with You. Death will be swallowed up in Life (1 Corinthians 15:53). I cannot wait to get to see You in all of Your glory. Makes me wonder, just like the song, I can Only Imagine, what will I do? Walk or run to You? Will I stand or kneel before You? Will I cry tears of such happiness or be overcome with such joy that laughter just erupts? Will I be able to hug You? I believe that is so important.
I am ready for Your coming, Lord. If there is anything else I should be doing better, please let me know. I want to hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord” (Matthew 25:23). May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). In Jesus’ name we pray (John 14:3). Amen.
