Husbands and wives, you have that peace from knowing that you both love one another, right? Children, they have peace knowing that they are safe, valued and loved. With all that peace and love comes trust. Jesus is a sure foundation of which we can build upon (1 Corinthians 3:11). His promises are true (Joshua 21:43-45). The word of God says that His people perish for a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). That is why so many people struggle with their faith, with trust, believing, acceptance and peace. It is because they do not know the word of God. His word is alive, active and breathing, able to discern our thoughts (Hebrews 4:12). Be honest, what do you know about the word of God? Have you read or are you reading His word every day? How will we ever find peace if we do not know the Author and Perfecter of our peace?
John 14:27 NASB Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
Colossians 3:16 NASB Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
2 Timothy 2:15 NLT Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.
I guess my question is, what are you feeding yourself? God’s word is our bread from heaven. 1 Peter 2:2 & Hebrews 5:12 both give references to the word being milk, and meat, with which we grow. We don’t starve our physical bodies, so let’s make a promise not to starve our spiritual bodies any longer, rather let’s grow in His word. Let’s be faithful to Him. He will bless us and then we can be a blessing to others.
Oh most holy heavenly Father,
You possess all wisdom (Proverbs 2:6). We cannot ever say enough how great You are. Your words are powerful (Hebrews 4:12). They strengthen us, embolden us and enrich us. Help us as we navigate our lives and place You first, to make a decision today that Your word will come first in our lives. Lord, I ask that You give us the desire to wake up and honor You by putting You first. We commit ourselves to prayer and reading. We will draw near to You (James 4:8). Open the eyes of our hearts and feed us with the manna contained in Your word (Ephesians 1:18). For we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Amen!
