1 Kings 19:11-12 NASB And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.
Matthew 10:26-28 NIV “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
We repent of being too busy to hear from You. I ask that You take our minds and conform them to Your mind (Romans 12:2). Let our will be Your will for our lives. Help us to take this time and just sit in quietness listening for Your still small voice (Isaiah 30:21). Speak to us and we will shout it from the rooftops. Thank You, Lord, for revealing to us that You speak in a whisper. We need to be quiet so that we can hear our King. Your word says, My sheep hear My voice (John 10:27). Give us the strength, and desire to turn everything else off and to develop quiet time with You. Speak Lord for Your servants are listening (1 Samuel 3:7-11). Help us to start by deliberately taking a single minute of quiet and giving it to You. It will be in the quiet that we hear Your voice. Thank You for this word today. We exalt You, our King. We give You the highest praise. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen and amen.
