Galatians 5:16-26 NLT
16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

Dearest and most holy heavenly Father,
We adore You and sing Your praises. You are great, awesome and amazing! None can begin to understand exactly how wonderful that You are. One day we will know. I praise You now, especially with the limitations that I have, in understanding. I stand in awe of You (Habakkuk 3:2). Thanks for Your love and concern for all men (John 3:16). Thanks for Your Holy Spirit which guides us in all truth (John 16:13).
Help us as we are directed by Your Holy Spirit, to walk in a way which is pleasing to You (Colossians 1:10). Give us the strength to withstand temptation and having done all to stand (Ephesians 6:13). We need to be showing Your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We can do that by Your power at work in us (Ephesians 3:20). Help us to realize that our desires of our sinful nature are nailed to the cross. May we always seek to please You and NOT our flesh. Our bodies are not our own, we were bought with a price may we honor You Lord with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Help us to be humble, seeking others well-being ahead of our own and be satisfied with what we have.
We long for the day that You call us home. Death will be swallowed up by life (2 Corinthians 5:4). Oh, to be with You is our great reward (Matthew 5:12). Thank You for Your word, this life and for being with us through it all. We are among all men most blessed to be Your children. We thank and praise You for everything You have done, will do and are doing in our lives. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven in Jesus’ name (Matthew 6:10). Amen.
