Faith vs Fear

Luke 8:35-37 NASB The people went out to see what had happened; and they came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting down at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they became frightened.  Those who had seen it reported to them how the man who was demon-possessed had been made well.  And all the people of the country of the Gerasenes and the surrounding district asked Him to leave them, for they were gripped with great fear; and He got into a boat and returned.

When fear grips a person it paralyses them, keeping them from walking in the fullness of God. Faith and fear cannot coexist. You either believe or you don’t. Step out in faith believing and see what the Lord will accomplish through you. He is amazing.

Luke 8:43-48 NASB And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone,  came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped.  And Jesus said, “Who is the one who touched Me?” And while they were all denying it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing in on You.”  But Jesus said, “Someone did touch Me, for I was aware that power had gone out of Me.”  When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling and fell down before Him, and declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed.  And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”

All power is in Jesus. So much power that if we just have faith, we can move the mountains in our lives. Mountains of doubt, sickness and disease can be removed by our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)

Matthew 9:24-25 NASB He said, “Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him. But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.

I believe the body of Christ is sleeping. We need to wake up and realize the great power that is alive in us! Seek the Lord on this matter. You have gifts inside of you that God has placed there. (1 Corinthians 12) You have power inside of you, the power of the Holy Spirit. (Jude 1:20)

Oh Father,

Great and mighty are You! We have tasted and seen that You are good (Psalm 34:8). We exalt You as King of all kings and Lord of all lords. You are God Almighty and there is nothing that You cannot do. We praise and worship You in the beauty of Your holiness (Psalm 96:9). Thank You for Your word!

Wake us up, Lord. Help us to walk in Your strength and power. Let us show Your Light to all those around us who are in the dark and walking without hope and without You. They are miserable! Let us bring hope to doubters, joy to those in misery, strength to the weak, love to all, and peace to those in turmoil. Let us be patient ones who are full of kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

We rejoice that our names are written in heaven (Luke 10:20). We humble ourselves and are excited to see what You are going to do in our lives. We will go where You send us, do what You tell us and say that which brings honor to Your name. We will walk in the strength and power of Your Holy Spirit. We will deny our flesh and walk in the Spirit. We will have faith and we will step out in our faith. Because we know we are never alone. You have promised to be with us to the very end (Matthew 28:20). You have us in the palm of Your hand. May we bring You joy for we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
