As they were going out, a mute, demon-possessed man was brought to Him. After the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” But the Pharisees were saying, “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”
Men’s minds are twisted so bad that they call evil good and good evil. As you can see it even happened in this verse to our Lord and Savior Jesus. “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.” How ridiculous is that? Why would satan want to throw himself out of someone? Makes no sense. The things that we thought ten years ago was bad has now become acceptable in mainstream America. Every year our country keeps accepting more and more evil, calling it good.
Matthew 10:16-20 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves. But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues; and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
Why is it that people are calling good people bad? Those who have values and stand up for what is right are condemned. Listen, right is right and wrong is wrong. The bible says in Isaiah 5:20, ‘Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.’ We need to be praying and seeking the Lord with all of our hearts. The Bible says, let every man work out his own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). I just want us to realize that one day we will all have to stand before the Lord and give account of what we have done while on this earth whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10). Let’s make sure our hearts, minds and souls are cleansed by the word of God. He will reveal the truth to us if we allow Him to (John 14:26).
Ephesians 4:17-24 With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against Him. They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from Him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
Back in 1989, Janie Tinklenberg, made up the acronym WWJD. Ask yourself the question, what would Jesus do? Ask that question when faced with any moral decision. Seek His truth according to His word. He will lead and guide you in all truth. The time to seek the Lord is now (Isaiah 55:6)! I could list a bunch of things that I know to be wrong, but I feel that the Lord wants us all individually to come to Him and figure things out. Study the word of God to show that you aren’t ashamed and can rightly interpret what He is saying to you as an individual (2 Timothy 2:15). Let God speak to your heart through His word and prayer.
How awesome are You. You ride in splendor and majesty. Righteousness and justice are Your middle names. You hold all mercy, compassion, truth and love. You are perfect. Lord, we see the evil in our world. It seems like people “are hopelessly confused” even now. The wickedness just seems to multiply daily. People hold no truth in their hearts. Their eyes are darkened. They believe lies. They have no wisdom. Everyone does what is right in their own eyes. I am so sorry for the state of our world. Men are lovers of themselves and not lovers of You. They have a form of Godliness but deny Your power (2 Timothy 3:1-5). I do not understand why their hearts have become so cold (Matthew 24:12). It seems as if people just do not care. There is such animosity and division. Father, You are not the author of these things. You are the Author of peace, love, hope and goodness. I pray that Your will would be done on this earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). Come Lord Jesus, we need You. Rescue us, set us free and while we are still here, give us the strength to go in Your great love and be Your witnesses. Fill our mouths with words from Your Holy Spirit. Help us, while we are still here, be a beacon of hope, shining Your light in this dark world. We will give You all of the praise for we ask everything in Jesus’ name. Amen.
