Put God First

I don’t know what to write. Have you ever had one of those days? I want to honor the Lord with all of my posts. Indeed, my hearts desire is to please Him. Today, I just didn’t honestly know what to write. I opted with this title though because it is the truth. This should be the title. We ALL should be putting God first in everything that we do. When I say that, it is exactly what I mean. He deserves first place.

First place in our thoughts. First place in our actions. First place in our homes. First place in our marriages. First place in our finances. First place in our parenting. First place in our planning. Every single thing we do should be with Him at the helm, right out in front. Then we will know that everything will be a success and will have His stamp of approval, because He is leading the way.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Colossians 3:17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

1 Peter 2:15 For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men.

Dearest and most holy heavenly Father,

I have heard before that when we pray it is the best time of the day because we are talking to the One who loves us the most. It is so true, Father. As much as we (humans) try to love one another, it will never meet with the love that You have for all of creation. We are learning to love others as You would have us to. Learning to love even our enemies (Luke 6:27-36). Thank You for the love and mercy You have shown us. In Jesus’ name Amen.
