Prepare Yourself to Meet Your King

‘You do you.’ How many times have we heard that? Let’s change it to ‘you do what God wants from you.’ Our days are numbered (Psalm 139). We will all stand at the judgement seat of Christ. Each of us will give an answer for the things we have done (Romans 14:10-12). This life is not our final destination. Heaven is our home and we need to be getting prepared. No-one is guaranteed tomorrow (Proverbs 27:1).

Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Daniel 5:27 TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting

Malachi 4:1-3 “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,”
Says the Lord of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the Lord of hosts.

Yes Jesus is our great High Priest and He will judge us. He will separate the wheat from the chaff (Matthew 3:12). His eyes are like flames of fire.  His voice thunders like mighty ocean waves (Revelation 1:14-15).

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

Acts 17:30-31 So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent, because He has set a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all people by raising Him from the dead.

Oh most holy heavenly Father,

Help us to digest Your word. We need to realize the sheer magnitude of standing in Your great presence. May we humble ourselves and seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

May we live to please You and bring honor to Your name. Please let the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing in Your eyes (Psalm 19:14).

Forgive us where we have failed You. Raise us up to do and be better people. Help us to continue to die to the flesh and live in the Spirit (Romans 8:13). We know that the flesh produces ugly and carnal things that are not pleasing to You. You alone know our heart. We willingly lay down our lives to be used for Your glory. Shine through us Lord Jesus in Your name we pray.

  1. Yes, I totally agree! We need to change that to ‘Do what God wants you to do.’ To be in His Will is the best. His plans for me are way better than if I just plodded on and did my own thing. Thanks for sharing!
