We cannot be proclaiming Jesus with one blog and then something contrary to scripture in another. It hurts me to see people, who I look forward to reading their Christian blogs, say something entirely out of line with Christianity. We are to proclaim the gospel in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2). It should not be a popularity contest. What we should be in is a ‘truth contest.’ Sharing the word of God is our main objective, is it not? What did Jesus say in the Great Commission?
The Great Commission
Matthew 28:16-20 NKJV Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Go and make disciples….teaching them to observe all things He commanded us. Our time on this earth is limited. We need to be teaching others what we know to be true according to the word of God. If it is a poem, wonderful write a great poem for, to or about God. If it is in teaching, then teach the truth. Don’t water down the Bible to gain fans. We are here to point people to the Lord. If it is preaching, then do it wholeheartedly as unto the Lord. We need to seek His approval and not man’s. This earth is not our home. Heaven is our destination. Let’s make sure that our posts are clearly revealing that to a lost and hurting world that God loves so much He sent His Son to die for all (John 3:16). At the end of the day may we be able to say, “Not my will, but Yours Lord”.
Dearest and most holy heavenly Father,
Help us to point others to You. May we not fall into the temptation of seeking man’s approval. May we only seek Your approval. Let our blogs and their content bring You glory. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is, Did we try our best to win the lost at any cost? Are we doers of the word and not hearers only (James 1:22)? Have we gotten away from the true message of hope, security and love that is found in You alone? Oh, wash us Lord, wash us with the water of Your word (Psalm 51:7). We thirst for You (Psalm 42:2). You are the only hope for mankind. All of humanity needs You. You are our great King. You are Lord of lords. You are our Savior. We praise and adore You. We lift Your name on high. We ask You today for there to be a great shift in the heavenlies and that the truth of Your love would come forth through more and more of our blogs. Pierce our hearts to write for You. Work a great and mighty work in and through us. May we be such amazing ambassadors for You (2 Corinthians 5:20), that in the end we hear You say, “Well done, thou good and faithful one. Enter into the joy of Your Lord.” (Matthew 25:21) We need You. We need to be teaching and helping others. We ask that You flood us with Your Holy Spirit. Reveal any errors that we have had in our content and help us to correct the things we need to. We ask everything in Your great name Jesus. Amen.
