Heed

Heed defined is to be careful to consider.

Mark 13:33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

Matthew 24:4-5 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”

There are a lot of biblical warnings to take care and be cautious in many things. We are to watch and pray, stay humble, dwell in the Word, and pray against being deceived. It is possible, as Christians, to be under false doctrine. The bible says let every man work out his own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). I suggest that we adhere to the word of God. It is time to delve in and stay clothed with the truths in the bible. God will keep us safe. We have to keep our eyes on Him, our true Messiah. He is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27).

Are You Washed in the Blood? lyrics written by Elisha Hoffman in 1878

1 Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Chorus:
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless?
Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

2 Are you walking daily by the Savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?[Chorus]

3 When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?[Chorus]

4 Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb![Chorus]

The Statler Brothers singing Are You Washed In The Blood

Pray with me please,

Our dearest and most holy Lord of all creation,

We humble ourselves in Your presence (James 4:10). We praise and worship You for who You are and everything that You do (Psalm 99:5. Thank You for the gift of another day. Help us to daily watch and pray, stay humble, dwell in Your Word, and pray against being deceived. We trust that You will keep us safe. More than anything else, we want to be pleasing in Your sight. Our hope is in Your unfailing love (Psalm 147:10-11). Keep us close to Your side, Father. Help us to ‘spot the not’ by keeping our focus on You and Your word. You will direct our path (Proverbs 3:5-6). That is Your word which will not return to You void without accomplishing what You set it out to do (Isaiah 55:11). We confess and repent of, any known or unknown, sin. Reveal anything that we are doing that keeps us from being in Your perfect will. We submit to You only. Show us where and when we need to resist the devil so that he flees from us (James 4:7). We will give You all the honor, glory and praise for it is in the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

      1. Hi {{{Donna}}} – – – I understand your need for a nap. I am doing a lot more yawning today than usual. Maybe I need a nap, too. It’s a gray, gloomy day out there. And with the virus news coming in about my grandson, the gloom sneaked under the door to the inside of my heart, too. 😦 sigh!
