James 1:19 NASB You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger

Show compassion, listen eagerly, and forgive immediately. Be honest, how often do we become quick to anger, quick to speak, and slow to hear? We totally get James 1:19 backwards at times. If we would slow down and read it again, think about what God is saying to us and apply it to our lives we would be so much better off, and not just us, but everyone in our lives would benefit from us doing life how God wants us to do it. Relationships take time. Anything worth having is worth the investment of our time, wouldn’t you agree?

Our holy and most heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your mercy, compassion and time that You give us to grow in You. Never have You forced us to accept You. We have freely asked You to come into our hearts and forgive us for our sins (1 John 1:9). We have asked You to be Lord of our life and we have done so in the mighty name of Your Son, Jesus (Romans 10:9). We believed that You sent Your Son to die for our sins (1 John 4:10). He did so, willingly, out of love for all humanity (John 10:18). Then You gave us the blessed gift of Your Holy Spirit (John 14:26). I just want to thank and praise You for Your great gift of Redemption. I love You.

I ask that You would help us, please apply this verse to our hearts. Forgive us for not spending enough time meditating on Your word and for all the times that we got this verse backwards. Lord, give us the desire to memorize Your word (2 Timothy 2:15). There is such power in the scriptures. I pray that we would all practice this verse. Help us to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. We can do all things through Your power living in us (Philippians 4:13).

Reveal more of Yourself to us through this verse and many others so that we would bring glory to Your name. Give us all the wisdom and strength, that we need in our lives, with our families and out in our places of employment (James 1:5 & Mark 12:30). Help us, in our blogs, to spread the truth of Your word to the lost across all nations (Matthew 28:19). Please use us, mightily, for Your kingdom. We surrender to Your way and Your will for our lives. Thank You, Lord, for not only hearing our prayers, but for supplying all of our needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). You are awesome. We shout forth Your praises. All hail King Jesus, in Whose name we pray. Amen.
