Getting closer to God is easy as ABC’s and 123. God wants us to come to Him. He is always there for us. We are the ones who walk away, get too busy or become complacent. When we read the word of God, we can take one verse and apply it to our lives for example:
Philippians 4:13 NKJV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
This verse really encourages me to know that I can do all things with Jesus helping me.
For those who have been walking with the Lord for a longer time, I would encourage you to read the whole concept found in verses ten through twenty or even read the whole chapter again and again. God’s word is so amazing in that every time we read it, He can speak to our hearts.
Philippians 4 NASB – Think of Excellence – Therefore, my – Bible Gateway
1 John 4:4 NASB
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
That one reminds me that Christ, in me, is greater than satan or any problems I may face.

Matthew 28:20 NKJV
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
That one confirms that Jesus is with me always. With Him in me, there is not one single thing that I cannot face. His perfect love casts out fear. See verses 16-20 for more awesome enlightenment.

Read His word, oh child of the most high God, and be encouraged, enlightened, strengthened and empowered. He will draw you closer to Him through His word. Feast on the pages. Let it be your hearts desire to know more and more of Him and His will and His way. You will find peace in the blessed pages.
Dearest and most holy Father,
You are Lord of all creation and yet You always have time for Your children. You are so awesome and amazing. We praise and exalt You. We thank You for the comfort of Your word. It is so wonderful to be able to trust in Your promises. We are safe and secure in Your arms. What an amazing feeling! We want Your will and Your way to be prevalent and evident in our lives. We need You and want to grow in You. Please help us to draw nearer to You. We repent and lay aside anything that is separating us from spending time in Your presence. We ask for Your great protection and help to overcome any sin and satan’s attacks on us. Keep us safe and secure, and stable in the perfect center of Your will for our lives. We pray in the blessed and holy name that is above all other names, the name of Jesus.
