Wisdom

James 3:17

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 1:7). We are blessed if we find wisdom. It is better than silver or gold (Proverbs 3:13-18). If we lack wisdom, we can ask God and He will give it to us (James 1:5 & Proverbs 2:6). It pleases God when we ask for wisdom (2 Chronicles 1:7-12). Wisdom is something we can pray to be filled with (Colossians 1:9). In His word we see that to gain wisdom, we have to listen to advice and accept instruction (Proverbs12:15 & 19:20). The word of God needs to dwell in us richly (Colossians 3:16). We must be careful how we walk and show the best use of our time to display wisdom (Ephesians 5:15-16). Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise (Proverbs 13:20). To be wise you must show restraint (Proverbs 29:11).

Our Lord and most holy heavenly Father,

We worship You in Spirit and in truth. Your word says that You seek such to worship You. You are everything to us. You hold the keys to each and every problem or circumstance that we may be faced with. You are excellent and worthy of all praise. We honor You and declare with the angels that You are holy (Revelation 4:8). Thank You for always providing us with the things that we need, physically, emotionally and spiritually. You are great and of Your kingdom there is no end.

We ask today that You would provide us with more wisdom. May we exhibit Your wisdom in all aspects of our lives. You have said in Your word that You would give us wisdom, if we ask. Today we ask for more wisdom. We want a closer walk with You. Our hearts cry is to walk along life’s way, hand in hand with our Savior.

Help us to show restraint in matters of the heart, mind and soul. These three areas we have given to You. We declare You are Lord over them. Our heart, mind and soul willingly bow to You and Your Lordship. We cry out for Your wisdom in every single dealing we have at home, school, work, in our finances, families, relationships, blogs and health.

We confess and repent for anything we have done that is against what Your will is for our lives. Please reveal all sins so that we can repent and draw even nearer to You, our great God and soon coming King.

We beg You for Your protection and help in dealing with any sin, fleshly or satanic. God, You are most powerful. Nothing and definitely no-one can stand in the way of what You want to happen. We pray that Your will would be done in our lives and that we would be at perfect peace in the very center of Your will. We ask all things in the lovely name of Jesus.
