Believe and Pray with Joy

Mark 11:22-24 NKJV

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

We see in the above scripture that there needs to be belief in God and forgiveness towards all people. Belief + Forgiveness = Miracles

The Bible says that signs and wonders will follow those who believe (Mark 16:17-18 & Acts 14:3). I believe in God’s power. His word says that He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). There is nothing my God cannot do. He has shown Himself to me, more than once, and in so many different ways. He is a miracle-working, all-providing, Friend and Confidant. He can do more than we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). His word says we have not because we ask not, or because we ask with the wrong motives (James 4:2-3). He never will leave or forsake us (Matthew 28:18-20, Hebrews 13:5 & Deuteronomy 31:8). He never has failed and He never will. Our God is a great God. He is all-compassing, full of greatness and all-powerful. Ask Him and you shall receive, that your joy may be full (John 16:24).

I, personally, have learned that when we ask with the correct motives (believing), and not harboring any enmity towards anyone, that there is something more to do, as well. Let me try to explain. When we ask in faith believing, what are we believing for? Whatever it may be; health, a lost loved ones salvation or anything else….when we ask in prayer believing (if we really believe) shouldn’t there be rejoicing? Shouldn’t we be full of joy? If we are truly believing God that He will hear us and He loves to give us good gifts and everything else that we know to be true according to His word, we should pray with joy. You know the joy that you get when you pray and God answers your prayer? Let’s approach His throne with that joy, in our belief, for the things we ask from Him. The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10 & Romans 14:17).

Romans 15:13 NASB

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pray with me please,

Dearest and most holy God of all creation,

What joy and peace is ours when we come into Your presence! Thank You for giving us so many things in Your word to navigate this life (Psalm 119:105). Time and time again, Your provide us with everything that we need. You are relentless in Your pursuit of love for us. You have been there when we were at our worst and still You loved us the most. (Romans 5:8) Your love is indescribable. Who can fathom it (Psalm 145:3)? Thank You that we can rest in Your great all-encompassing love (1 John 4:8). There is nothing too hard for You. You are the maker of heaven and earth and yet You have time for Your children. We praise and bless Your holy name. Thank You for awakening this truth in us. To ask, with all joy and peace in believing, so that we will abound in hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). Oh, Lord, how refreshing it is to come before Your throne. We have that privilege and honor through Jesus’ great atonement on the cross. We can come boldly before You (Hebrews 4:16), and today we come humbly and full of gratitude to You (James 4:10). We wash Your feet with our spiritual tears (Luke 7:38), and we cry with the angels, ‘You are holy’ (Revelation 4:8). We worship You in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). We declare that You are God alone and there is no other. You are King over our hearts, minds and souls. We, willingly, bow before You because You have captured our hearts with Your love. Today, I ask, that we, Your children, walk in the fullness of Your joy. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Philippians 4:6 KJV

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

    1. We got to see ‘for King & Country’ perform it live! Oh, for the days we could gather socially. They did a smashing job. I love this version too. God bless you and your family Lesley. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Have a great day. 🙂

      1. I know, Donna, but I have hopeful anticipation for 2021. I have a feeling that things will come together, though it may take a while. I’m looking forward to church being back to normal. It will happen at some point in the new year. The uk is having such a Covid spike just now and we’ve become a bit of a ‘plague island’! lol No one wants to touch us!
I would have enjoyed seeing that band – the drums appeal to the Celtic blood in me. 😀
        God bless, Donna. xx

      2. Love your optimism. The thing I look forward to the most is seeing Jesus. I know this world is just temporary. It is not my home. My home is in heaven, where I will have a glorified new body. I look forward to no sickness, disease or filth of any kind. It is hard to imagine because I am not a visionary type of person. Meaning I can’t see the things in my mind. But I sure can dream and hope. God is good and Je has promised us so many things on His word of which I trust.
I will pray for your island to turn from a plague island to a full of beauty island. I will pray that God removes the Coronavirus from your land. May He have mercy and display His great power.
The drums were amazing. They did an amazing performance on all of their songs. We were blessed by their performance. I am thankful for YouTube. At least we can still watch them here.
Take care Lesley and have a great day.

      3. Thank you for your prayers, Donna. The uk certainly needs them right now.
Oh yes, seeing and being with Jesus is the ultimate glory. Thinking about it gets my heart racing. Despite the brokenness, our world is a beautiful place . . . but we’re in for one heck of an upgrade! 😀 xx

  1. Yes, {{{Donna}}}, we should always, “pray with joy” and anticipation. Our God is faithful to hear us and provide us with His love and joy, giving us the answers of our heart when we pray in His will. Have a Very Merry Christmas, my friend.<3
