Matthew 4:8-10 NKJV

⁸ Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. ⁹ And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

Nothing matters except serving the Lord. There is no temptation that satan could possibly offer that is worth more than sacrificing our love for Jesus. Hold tight to His love, child of the most high God. Nothing in this earth is worth going to hell for. Keep the word of God hidden in your heart. Dwell on it richly. His word is our weapon to defeat satan.

Oh most wonderful heavenly Father,

We willingly worship and praise You, for You alone are worthy of all praise. We thank You that everything is going to be done, according to Your will and what Your plans are, for our lives and for this world that You created. You are God. You are Lord and King. Today, we ask for Your help in using Your word as our weapon to defeat satan and his attacks on us. Please, give us the strength and wisdom that we need. We confess and repent for not spending enough time soaking in Your word. If there is any hidden sin, we pray that any and all would be revealed so that we can turn away from it and be drawn closer to Your side. We ask for Your great help to overcome sin. We love You and need Your help. We sing along with Casting Crowns, ‘we do not want to leave a legacy, we don’t care if they remember us, only Jesus.’ His is the name we wish to exalt by our submitted lives and it is in His holy name we pray asking all things. Amen.
