Jesus will give, all who labor and are burdened with cares of this world, rest. (Matthew 11:28-30) We have to enter His rest. (Hebrews 4:11) We do that by trusting, relying and clinging to Him and on His promises. (Psalm 37:3-7) God will give us peace and guard our hearts. We are not to be anxious about anything, just pray about everything. (Philippians 4:6-7)
God rested on the seventh day and we need to rest as well. (Genesis 2:2-3 7 Exodus 20:8-11) See my blog titled, ‘Fourth of the Ten Commandments” https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2020/03/14/fourth-of-the-10-commandments/ We get our strength from being quiet before the Lord and trusting in His provision of rest. (Isaiah 30:15)
We will find rest while walking in His path. (Jeremiah 6:16) Resting in Him is spiritual, physical and intellectual. Just like Jesus told us to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. (Mark 12:30) That is entering in His rest. It is a continual process of trusting Him in everything and praying without ceasing. (1Thessalonians 5:16-18) We are to be growing in Him and in the power of His might. (Ephesians 6:10)
It is when we are fully submitted to Him and committed to walking along the path that He has set before us, that we find true rest. So that no matter what we are doing, saying or even thinking it is all God-honoring. Rest for our souls. Rest through trials, testings, and daily living. Complete and total reliance on Him brings rest.
Dear Lord,
We love You. It is such an awesome privilege to come before Your throne. We are entering the holy of holies. All praise, honor and glory are Yours. We worship You in spirit and in truth. Thank You so much for the honor to be called Your children and the blessing of being loved by You. You have given us so much. Help us to appropriate the knowledge that You have recorded for us in Your blessed and holy word. Shine down on us and shine through us to reach the lost at any cost. Let us be bold, yet humble. Help us to understand and to walk in the fullness of Your rest. We submit to You. You are our Lord, Savior and soon coming King. Please do a mighty work through our submitted lives. We will give You all the praise for we ask in Jesus’ name.
