Just Say Jesus

I want to talk today about how powerful the name of Jesus is and I will use a personal experience to encourage you to call on Him no matter the situation. I regret my past drinking and smoking. I apologize for sharing this but I feel it is beneficial to knowing the power of God. He will heal, save and deliver. Just say Jesus.

When I was in my twenties I was friends with a lady, who, I didn’t know at the time, was a self-proclaimed welch witch. As soon as I found out, I quit hanging around her. Let me tell you how I found out. We were ‘hanging out’ at her house. We had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. She told me to just stare at this picture on her wall. I have no idea what it even was now, but I remember her telling me, at that time, she was a Welch witch. I was like no way, really? She said yes and wanted to try and get in my head. Well I left her house and went home where I tried to sleep it off.

I, then, had a terrible dream. In my dream she was trying to push me down my basement steps. In my subconscious, I knew that if she knocked me down those steps in my dream, that I would die in my conscious state. I tried to wake up. You know how when you are having a bad dream you might shake or something trying to wake yourself up? Well that is what I was doing but I couldn’t wake up and it was getting harder to keep from being pushed down the stairs so I cried out, “Jesus help me“. Then I woke up.

Nothing has power over Jesus. Even though I wasn’t serving God at that time I knew if I called for Jesus He would help me. I told another friend about my dream and she said that it was wonderful how I knew to call on Jesus even in my sleep. The power is His and He is there for us when we need Him. He will never leave us or forsake us. Please just know that you can call on Him. He will hear you and come to your rescue, just like He did mine. Even in your sleep He is God. Just say Jesus.

Philippians 2:9-11 NASB. For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

John 14:13 NASB And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Father God,

Thank You for being there for Your children. Every time we need You, there You are. You are the God who sees, hears, cares and provides. You are awesome. We cannot sing Your praises enough for all that You have done for Your children. While we were sinners You died for us. You gave Your all on the cross. We lift Your name on high. All praise, honor and glory are Yours. Thank You for Your deliverance. Thank You for Your protection and provision. I am sorry for the past when I walked with the world and not with You. I am so grateful for Your forgiveness, love and mercy. You pulled me out of the miry pit and set my feet on the Rock. I never want to walk away from You. Thank You for keeping me safe. I plead the blood of Jesus and a hedge of protection over all of those reading today. If there are any involved in worldly activities, may they see that You will help them if they call on You. Thank You, Father, for taking the blinders off so that all can see Your great power. We pray today and every day in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Revelation 22:14-15 NIV Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

  1. I believe it! I know it! I have experienced it in my life, too. “The power is His and He is there for us when we need Him. He will never leave us or forsake us.” Praise God!! Have a blessed day, {{{Donna}}} – Hugs, Jan ;o) ❤

  2. Thank you for sharing these personal details of your testimony, Donna. It really does help us to get to know one another better and have more compassion and understanding when we realise what others have gone through before coming to Christ. Maybe one day I might be encouraged to share some of my personal testimony too!

    1. You are welcome. I can say with certainty, I didn’t want to share it in a way. I am not happy about what I have done in the past. I would much rather have walked with God my entire life. I just felt He wanted me to share so I did. I would like to read your testimony sometime. May the Lord give you the courage that is required to do such. Just remember, it matters not what man thinks, only what God thinks and what He is leading us to do. God bless you Lesley.
