But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NKJV
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Father God,
Thank You for Your word. You have given us so much hope therein. We do not have to stay in a deep state of perpetual sorrow when we lose a loved one. Of course, we can grieve our loss. You made us to have sorrow over the death of a loved one. You also have revealed to us Your glorious hope. We know, in our hearts, that You have raised Jesus from the grave and we know that You will raise us also. Your word says we will be with You! This old body will one day be swallowed up by eternal life (2 Corinthians 5:4). What great assurance we have. One day we will see You and we will see all of our loved ones again. When we think of them not having to suffer and not be in decaying bodies anymore, but to be in Your presence with new spiritual bodies brings us joy (1 Corinthians 15:35-58). One day You will call us all home where there will be no more separation and we will see You face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12). Thank You that one day You will be calling us home. Until that day, please comfort those of us who have lost a loved one, as only You can do. We ask all things in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

Yes, {{{Donna}}}, your reassurance comes directly from our Savior: ” We do not have to stay in a deep state of perpetual sorrow when we lose a loved one.” We know we will see them again. Blessed Assurance! ❤
