March to the Beat of a Different Drum

Galatians 1:9 NKJV As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Listen, right now in our world, there are preachers and various denominations that are watering down the truth of God’s word. Not only are they watering it down, they are polluting it with untrues. Since the beginning of this blog, the Lord has been impressing on me to continue to encourage His children to draw close to Him through the reading and believing of His word. You have to know the truth, then you will be able to see what is fake.

There is a progressive movement in churches that says the Bible ‘isn’t the Word of God..inerrant or infallible.’

The Bible says

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness

2 Peter 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture becomes a matter of someone’s own interpretation

John 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

There is a counsel of churches that are declaring war on Israel. God will bless those who bless Israel (Numbers 24:9). What will He do if a nation doesn’t bless His chosen people? He will curse them (Genesis 12:3).

The Methodist church is divided over same-sex marriages. God created man and female. He told them to go and populate the earth. He does not want same sex marriages doctrine. See the following blogs of mine.

These people may sound good. They might have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof (2 Timothy 3:5). They have a strong, positive message of love and inclusion, but I beg you to look into the word of God for yourself and determine what is truth. From such people we are warned to stay away. The Bible says for every man to work out his own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). No time to ride the fence or play games, we have to dig deep in the word of God and let Him be our Anchor. We want to hear the Lord say, Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joys of the Lord (Matthew 25:21). Remember He has told us that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord did we not prophesy in Your name and in Your name cast out demons? Then He will say, Depart from me you workers of iniquity, I know you not (Matthew 7:21-23).

John 8:32 NASB and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Father God,

Wake us up. Give us the strength to accomplish Your will for our lives. Take the blinders off of us so that we can see the truth. Help us to be submersed in the knowledge of Your truths. That is how we will spot the not and be able to survive. Draw us so close to Your side, where there is true peace and joy forevermore for we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. A good warning, Donna.
Recently I’ve been getting a bit confused over certain doctrines and have been searching here, there and everywhere, resulting in an overload of information. I’ve decided to go to the bible only and, in prayer, ask God to reveal His truth to me, as there are certain things that trouble me. I’m trusting Him that He will do this.

It’s so easy to get distracted by those speaking things that we like to hear. As for ‘the progressives’, some years ago I got caught up in reading a few works by two well-known progressive pastors – John Shelby and Marcus Borg. When you start reading this kind of literature, you get further and further away from what we are taught in the bible . . . until it even seems that the Resurrection of Christ didn’t seem relevant anymore. That’s when I knew that ‘progressive Christianity’ wasn’t for me and that it was a danger to our salvation.

We really do need to abide in His Word and keep our eyes on Jesus.

    1. Very well said, Lesley. Thanks for your most valuable insight. Sometimes we think what we are going through is so bad…but when God uses it to help people, it makes it all worthwhile. So while I am sorry that you got off track for a while with the progressive movement, I am glad God pulled you back and will use it to enlighten others. Thanks for sharing. Now more than ever we need to keep our focus on Jesus. I would say the only book we need to immerse ourselves in is the Bible. God bless you Lesley and thanks again. 🙂

  2. Sorry – John Shelby’s full name is John Shelby Spong (in case I cause confustion as there is an athlete by the name of John Shelby!).

    1. Thank you. God is so good. He gives us just what we need, just when we need it. All the time. He alone is worthy of all praise. Have a great day my sister in Christ. May His ‘Son’ shine deep inside your soul.
