Oh, please, stop referring to the Bible as it. When you make a comment do not say, it says in Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12. What we should say (and I do not care if it takes longer or not) The Bible says in Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12, or what the Lord wants us to know from Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12. We can also say, we read in Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12.
The Bible is more than a book. This is the living, breathing word of God.
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
2 Timothy 3:16 says that All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.
Some of the other translations have opted, for some strange reason, to add it in a lot of scriptures. Check out Hebrews 4:12 in some of the other versions. That is not the only scripture where they have done that either.
I wouldn’t refer to anyone’s blog that they had written as, it said. I would say their name and they, she or he said. Or if talking to them I would say, you said in the third paragraph….(or whatever paragraph I was referring to).
God speaks to us with His word.
Jesus is the Living Word of God (John 1).
Pray with me please.
Father God,
We come before You today asking for Your discernment. Help us to grow in You and to grow spiritually. May we refrain from referring to Your blessed word as it. May we purpose in our hearts to retrain ourselves and say only that which is pleasing to You. We do not care how many other people are doing it or what translations are using it. We only want to know that You are being honored with the words that we speak. You are not an it, neither is Your word. We love and praise You and want to bring You honor with all we think, say and do. In Jesus’ name we call on Your help. Amen.

If you do not know Jesus but would like to know more about Him, including how you can be saved, please read the following blog titled, You Never Let Us Go. God bless. https://thefathersfeet.wordpress.com/2020/01/07/you-never-let-us-go/

Yes, {{{Donna}}} – I will be careful to remember your lesson – and refer to God’s Living Word more carefully in the future. Never occurred to me that “It” might not be giving “The Bible” more respectfully in the future. I pray with you today, Der Lord, “We love and praise You and want to bring You honor with all we think, say and do. ” Amen!
