Judgement Seat of Christ

First set of notes from Derek Prince and his sermon Final Judgement Divided into eight blogs. Some people just like to read and I have found his sermons very helpful in my Christian walk.

Romans 14:10-12 NKJV But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord,
Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” 12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

2 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

We will all appear and each of us, as Christians, shall give account of ourselves to God (1 Peter 1:17 & 1 Peter 4:17).

Good or bad. Jesus said He who is not with Me is against Me (Matthew 12:30). We must not sit on the fence any longer. A commitment to God has to be made.

Five main points of this judgement:

  • Built on truth of Jesus (John 14:6).
  • Every person will answer for themselves.
  • The way we have lived while in this body.
  • There are only two categories, good or bad (1 John 5:17).
  • Not for condemnation if we are true believers in Jesus (John 3:18, 5:24 & Romans 8:1). Judgement to determine the service that we offered to Jesus (1 Corinthians 3:11-15).

2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

Or as in the Living Bible we see clearly in modern English this observance is a matter of our own heart, mind and motives.

2 Corinthians 13:5 TLB  Check up on yourselves. Are you really Christians? Do you pass the test? Do you feel Christ’s presence and power more and more within you? Or are you just pretending to be Christians when actually you aren’t at all?

Pray with me please,

Father God,

You are righteous. You will judge us righteously one day. Please help us to prepare ourselves for that great day of judgement. May our motives be pleasing to You. Help us to grow in Your wisdom. We ask that even our thoughts would come under the Lordship of Jesus. May we all be making the time to seek You now. May we make time to learn and do what is pleasing and acceptable before You. Give us wisdom as we carry out our mission to further Your kingdom. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever (Matthew 6:13). Amen. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen and amen.

  1. You asked, “Do you pass the test? Do you feel Christ’s presence and power more and more within you? ” Most days I do, {{{Donna}}} – – – but this past week, I let myself get too stressed – and I built a wall around my heart to guard off the pain. (It’s extremely rare that I let this happen.) Christ tore it down… I’m back! Have a great week, my friend. Thank you for your faithfulness! ❤

    1. I am so glad you are back, my friend. I thank Jesus for tearing those walls down for you. It is never to our benefit to build them, but I do understand how easy it is to do. We have to stay focused on Him and what His mission is for our life. He will lovingly guide us. Our God is so awesome. His way is right and His timing is always perfect. It is so good to trust Him with all things, especially our hearts. Thanks for being so honest. God bless you always. Have a great evening. ♡hugs♡
