Fourth set of notes from Derek Prince and his sermon Final Judgement Divided into eight blogs. Some people just like to read and I have found his sermons very helpful in my Christian walk.
Three ways to examine your personal service to God.
- Check your motive. The only motive that is acceptable is if we are seeking God’s glory.
1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
- Is our work done in obedience to what God says in His word? We must do what we know is God’s will for us to do.
Matthew 7:21-27 NKJV “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
- What is the power that we are operating in? Is the Holy Spirit working in us or is it the flesh?
Romans 15:18-19 NKJV For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient— 19 in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
The Bible says to work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people (Colossians 3:23). Who are we really trying to impress anyway? God knows our hearts (1 Samuel 16:7). He alone will judge us. If your motives haven’t been right in your giving, just pray and ask the Lord to forgive you, cleanse you and help you to do better. We can all do better. Let’s try our best to please our Father in all we say or do! God bless us all and draw us so close to His side, where there is true peace and joy forever.
Pray with me please.
You have been so loving and kind to us. Thank You that You don’t look at us as a man looks, but rather You look at our hearts. Help us to have clean hearts and pure motives in Your sight. May we always be doers of Your word and not hearers only deceiving ourselves. Our time on earth is short. Please help us to advance Your kingdom and to do it humbly for You and not for the applause of men. Thank You for bringing this word to us today. You are awesome and we love You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
