Good Enough

Romans 5:8 NKJV But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

One of the many great things about God is that He doesn’t wait for you to become ‘good enough.’ It was while we were yet sinners, that, Christ died for us. He didn’t wait until we got everything just right in our lives. He didn’t wait until we quit smoking, drinking, gossiping, cussing, sinning sexually or any other sin there is that He died for us. No! It was while we were yet sinners! Do you see what unfathomable love God has for us? We do not have to get our character cleaned up before He loves us or before He showed that love in dying for us. How can we even begin to understand such a great love?

Pray with me please.

Father God,

How awesome, loving, holy and kind You are. You are the definition of greatness and sovereignty. That is just who You are. You are our guide. We look to You in and for all things. Today, Lord, we ask for Your help in understanding and applying Your great love to our lives in all of our interactions with others. Thank You for loving us before we were, in our own eyes, ‘good enough.’ We now know that we have always been ‘good enough’ for You. Just as we are, right in the muck and mire. You came down from Heaven and by Your sacrifice on the cross, You cleanse all who believe upon Your name. You are holy, righteous, merciful and true. Help us in our walk to become more like You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

    1. Thank you! I am so thankful that God supplied me with the right words. He is so faithful. I love Him so much. You doing anything fun today Marla? I did my tidy Tuesday cleaning, walked 10,000 steps and had the great privilege of praying and reading the Bible with my sister. She lives far away and we do it over the phone. Praying that we get to do that every day if the Lord is willing. Hugs being sent your way ❀

      1. Wow, that is awesome about praying with your sister! If there is a will, there is a way! I like “tidy Tuesday. ” There is messiness usually here (not mine) so I’ll name mine, “tidy morning, noon and night.” Haha.

10000 steps already? You walked outside? Good for you! I’ve been exhausted for about a week and just laid down for days (not usual and felt guilty.) Now I started hiking again. We do the same trail daily but today I found the most incredible rock I’ve ever seen. I feel like it is rare and God gave it to me. I may blog about it even on Sunday.

      2. I am glad you started hiking again. It is so good to get outside and breathe the fresh air. One of my favorite things is walking through trails, seeing nature oh and waterfalls. I just love the outdoors.
That is so cool about the rock you found. I will wait anxiously for your blog on Sunday. My hubby found a heart shaped rock and brought it home to me. He said he was thinking of me. Ever since then that rock goes in each of my purses. I like to change purses every few months. I just recycle them for a later time.
I hope the rest of your day is wonderful. God bless you. Hugs. πŸ™‚

      3. Your hubbie loves you! What a sweet story. I hope your rock isn’t a couple of pounds since you tote it everywhere. Lol

I started finding heart shaped rocks while hiking, when I was feeling down. Soon I believed they are rocks from God to say He loves me, when I need special doses. ❀ And dimes, I find dimes a lot “from God!”

  1. I love the fact that while we were yet sinners that Christ died for us. I am learning that in my own strength. That I will never be good enough. I need him in every area of my life. Thanks for being obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit. God bless you!
