John 21:6 KJV And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
Cast defined is an act of throwing something forcefully. I imagine the disciples were tired for the previous verses said they had been fishing all night. When Jesus spoke to them it was morning. It required faith for them to throw that net out again. It may have seemed like all hope of getting any fish was all lost. But they didn’t grumble, hesitate or complain. The disciples did what they were told and forcibly threw the net in again. They didn’t lose hope. They were then rewarded with more than they needed. How very like our God to show up right when things looked the bleakest and turn the situation around.
We have to understand His great love and care for His children. We serve a mighty God who isn’t worried or fearful or in need of anything. We need only to have faith and He will provide. No matter the need, He is faithful. He just wants us to see Him (keep our eyes on Him and not the circumstances) and listen to Him (do what we know according to His word). That is stepping out in faith.
We just thank You for Your great love, care and compassion on Your children. You are awesome and holy. You are worthy of all praise. Help us to continue to ‘throw forcibly’ in to whatever You are speaking for us to do. May we never get tired, complacent or hesitant when it comes to doing that which we know is Your will for us. May we read Your word and act accordingly. May we listen for Your still small voice that will let us know which way we are to go. You are faithful. Your promises are true. Grant us the honor of walking so close to You and fulfilling our destiny that You have purposed beforehand for us. Oh how exciting to be Your children. We follow You wholeheartedly. Speak to us , Lord, for Your children are listening. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
