What is growing in our life’s garden? Are we planting seeds of doubt (unbelief) or seeds of faith, seeds of hatred, anger and bitterness or seeds of love, mercy and kindness. Whatever we plant will turn into a fruit. Bad fruit unfit for consumption or good fruit that will bless ourselves and others. Either way we are producing fruit.
The thing is; in our garden those sins (weeds) grow right alongside the flowers (good fruit). The sins can grow stronger and stronger the longer we leave them there. Then it becomes extremely difficult to remove them. Sure we can cut them down to ground level, but if we do not get the root, that sin will just pop right back up like the nasty weed that it is. If we do nothing about the weeds (sins) they can choke the life out of the good fruit. People will have a hard time seeing the beautiful flower or delicious fruit if it is overcome with weeds.
Matthew 7:16-19 NASB You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.

Father God,
We are so thankful that You are with us every step of the way. You haven’t left us (Hebrews 13:5). As we take a look at our lives, we ask that You would reveal any sins to us, that are growing in our gardens. We ask You to remove them completely. Thank You for being the Master gardener. You and You alone have the power to remove those weeds by the roots. As we submit to You, You can cleanse us and make us stronger than before. Please continue to fill us with Your Holy Spirit and Your power. May the good fruit blossom in our hearts, Lord, as we continue to seek Your will and Your ways. We need Your wisdom and guidance (Philippians 2:13). We so want to be pleasing in Your eyes. Help us to die to self and live for You (Galatians 2:20). In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
