Moses Divided, A Sinner Shall Not

This is a message for my fellow Christian bloggers. The Bible is our guide. May the word of God strengthen you all to continue fighting the good fight. Great will be our reward in heaven.

Titus 3:10-11 NLT Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time. 10 If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them. 11 For people like that have turned away from the truth, and their own sins condemn them.

We have to love the divisive person yet hate the sin (Jude 1:22-23). The Bible clearly teaches us that when someone is trying to argue the Bible with us, that we are to give a first and second warning and then avoid them. Wipe the dust off of our feet from that situation and let the Lord be the Judge (Matthew 10:14 & Isaiah 33:22). We are then to just pray for that person and ask the Lord for mercy over them. Remember, we are to model Jesus and He said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34). This is a form of humility, where we do not get all haughty and demand that our way is the right way. In truth, God’s way is the right way. So we have to follow Him on all points and in every circumstance.

Pray with me please.

Father God,

Satan has a tremendous amount of ways to distract us from Your truth. In Titus Paul tells us to shun four things: foolish controversies, genealogies, strife and disputes about the Law. Help us Lord, for those things simply are unprofitable and worthless. They don’t help us and we need Your help to avoid them. If we are not careful, Father, those who cannot discern might believe there is some truth to those people’s foolish words.

Teach us when to walk away from people who speak the foolishness without accepting our warnings. Father, we are not talking about minor teachings. We are talking about major concepts of Yours and Your work. Help us, Lord, to know when to walk away from any and all foolishness. May we just call on Your forgiveness towards them and wipe the dust off of our feet. The battle is Yours, Lord, not ours. You are the Victor.

Help us to stay grounded in Your word and in Your truth. Let us not waiver or be indecisive in what we know to be the truth of Your word (Hebrews 10:23). May we stand tall in all that we believe. There is no room for doubt (James 1:6). We know You and we know what You have said (John 10:27-29). Bring all of Your words back to our recollection when we need it, for that is what You have promised You would do (John 14:26). You are faithful (Deuteronomy 7:9). We can trust that You will do what You say You will do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
