Jude 1:12 NKJV These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots
In the book of Jude verse twelve we read about clouds without water. He is speaking about false teachers. In the prior verse those particular sins were described. Here he continues by explaining how those sins will eventually lead those who are rebellious into disaster. They are considered as stains on otherwise beautiful occasions. If you get a chance you can read the whole chapter here.
The presence of false teachers is a danger to those around them. They are good at disguising their ministry. They put on the role of ministers of light in order to practice evil and achieve personal gain, and no wonder for satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:13-14).
Thirsty people look in vain to false teachers for spiritual manna (food – nourishment). But they do not get filled because the false teachers do not carry the water of life-the word of God. True believers will spring forth with the fruit of the Spirit which produces Godly characteristics in those who walk in the truth (Galatians 5:22-23).
God hasn’t, as of yet, called me to point out false teachers, but if He were to tell me to, I would. What He has called me to do is encourage others to read His word. Dig in child of God, all of the wisdom we need is inside His blessed pages. We need to understand the truth of God’s word and submit ourselves to His will. We are built up and warned in His word of false teachers to come (Acts 20:29-32). God is able to keep us from falling into their trap (Jude v 24). We are safe in His hands, We just have to stay in His word so that we will be able to ‘spot the not.’
You hold all wisdom. Your wisdom is so far beyond ours. Today we ask for enlightenment in the area of false teachers. Helps us to dig into Your precious word. Reveal to us the truth. Help us to be on guard for our adversary, the devil, is walking around like a roaring lion, seeking out people that he can destroy (1 Peter 5:8). He is deceiving Your children, Father. I beg You to open all of our eyes to see the truth and to be able to walk away when necessary. We love You. Thank You for being our protection and strength. We can do all things with Your guidance. You are our rock, our redeemer and our banner. You go before us. You fight our battles and we are never alone. Praise Your holy name forever. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
